"Ohhh, coffee...." Caffine Time! Sunny was a little disappointed that Maia didn't share her glee at meeting her. After all, Maia was a pop star, sure, but Sunny was a famous superhero. They were both celebrities. She had hoped that maybe they'd get to share some celebrity stories. Grab a drink together while discussing what it was like to have fans. Maybe Sunny could get an invite to her next concert. That would drum up some publicity for the both of them! But instead, it seemed Maia just looked at her like she was weird.
That was hurtful!
"That's just in, like, comic books and movies." Sunny smiled back with her comment over her identity. "Everybody knows who I am. Plus then I'd, like, have to wear a mask, and I don't spend this much time on like, my totally perfect mascara to ruin it with a mask." She joked with a playful smile. Well, 'joked' in inverted commas, since Sunny was totally serious about preserving her make-up. She'd never want to do anything to ruin it.
She watched a little jealously as Maia was asked for an autograph. It wasn't like Sunny was a stranger to that either, but it was mildly irritating to see Maia asked and not herself! She thought about offering to sign it too, but that seemed vain even by Sunny's standards, so instead she stood back and let Maia sign it, smiling politely and hoping she'd be recognised.
so far, no luck.
"I love signing autographs. Don't you?" She said, to try and make conversation and keep talking about how she too was a celebrity, at least. Besides, it was true. She did. The adoring look from her fans was one of her favourite things. Nothing made her feel better than being admired or made to feel pretty.

"Like I am gonna buy everything!" SQUEEEE, SHOPPING!!!! Things were finally looking up for Sunny. Her arm was fully healed, meaning that she could get back to proper work, and debut her new black costume in more than promo shots (and that she could get said promo shots redone without the cast). Not that the cast hadn't tested well with audiences and helped get her sympathy, but now she had to get back and show some real strength. She'd been working on her power poses too and it was all looking good. The new limited edition black suit Gravity Girl dolls were on sale soon too, and she was already planning her triumphant return to her pink outfit. She missed it. Black worked for her dark and edgy mourning period, but nothing looked as good as pink, especially with her blonde hair and girly personae. Plus she'd been wearing the lavender perfume for a while now, and she desperately wanted to switch back to her girlier scents, but remained dedicated to lavender being her 'gothic' scent to go with black outfit.
She landed with a satisfying click from her stiletto heels, cape settling behind her. Of course she always went shopping in her costume. She loved the attention it got and the people asking for selfies and autographs. She absolutely adored being the centre of attention, and the popular local hero. Of course, some people were fed up with seeing Sunny descend from the sky every weekend and spending a small fortune, and even kept their heads down to avoid her, with only a polite cough as they inhaled the far too much perfume she wore that surrounded her like a cloud. But Sunny didn't concern herself with them. No. She was here for the fans, and she loved engaging with them.
Especially when said fans involved a cute man in a Brooks Brothers suit approaching her. Sunny was, despite her wealth, fame and popularity, notoriously bad around boys. She just had no idea how to speak to somebody who didn't consider make-up one of the four elemental forces of the world (this was also why so many girls disliked her; it was almost universal). So she smiled, a little bashfully, brushing her perfect hair behind an ear, and then approaching, trying to speak to him 'adult to adult', which was difficult because despite Sunny's age she felt very much a child still, especially with her short size (despite the heroic efforts of her heels to make her taller).
"Oh, like, sure, I'd love to!" She beamed to her new fan. "Who shall I make it out to?" She asked, unclipping a pen from her utility belt (a vital gadget, of course, right next to her lip gloss and compact). The pen still had pink ink, but some things she would never change. She leaned over ready to sign the book, smiling pleasantly.

"This is gonna be great for my profile!" Two Heroes Unite! Sunny gave a sheepish smile as Paladin tried to reassure her. That she had dreams 'just like her'. She doubted somehow that Paladin's dreams had been the same as Sunny's dreams. She found it hard to believe that Paladin's dreams ever involved endless wardrobes of high fashion and professional manicures each day and filling a swimming pool entirely with her favourite perfume. But still, it was nice to know that Paladin understood her. Even seemed to guide her a little. For once, Sunny was enjoying being in the presence of an obviously more experienced hero. Letting her guide her. "Well, if your dreams were like mine and you wanted a Barbie dream house to live in, you can always visit my manor in Beverly Hills. It's basically the same thing." She said teasingly, but meaning the offer. She liked to think they were friends now, and wanted Paladin to know that she could visit whenever she wanted. She wanted them to be friendly. Besides, a girly weekend with Paladin? That sounded amazing! If she could convince Paladin to enjoy being pampered for a bit... She listened to her advice, and looked back at her with a slightly mischievous grin. "Sooooo.... what you're saying is.... with great power.... must also come... great responsibility?" She said playfully. "I've seen those movies too!" She stuck her tongue out, obviously being a bit goofy. She paused though, and reflected on what she said. She knew that it was true. While Sunny might of enjoyed the fame and glory side of heroing, she also understood that it needed to be done. Because she COULD do it. So she SHOULD. It was simple as that. "Although, ew, spending that long in the gym? Ick. I hate exercise. You get all sweaty and gross. I just diet to look this thin!" She said cheerily, and unfortunately the introspection was clearly gone as she was back to her stereotypical 'girly girl' self. When the kids approached, wanting signatures and selfies, Sunny suddenly dropped in to an expert celebrity mode, giving them cheerful waves, hugs, complimenting the kids in Gravity Girl costumes or tees, signing everything as they asked and giving her usual overly cheerful selfies. A few of the kids choked a little on her overwhelmingly strong perfume; apparently they hadn't expected that, but apart from that, most scampered away happy. When Sunny was dealing with selfies and signings, she was in her element, and found it easy. When Paladin suggested they go have some fun after the kids had left though, Sunny gave an uneasy smile. She was a little nervous. She wasn't sure that Paladin's idea of fun was her idea of fun, but then again, it was a nice opportunity, right? Maybe Paladin would be her real friend by the end of it? Not just for her profile or for the superhero community, but because Sunny didn't actually have many close friends. They couldn't usually get past the cloud of perfume and her general self absorbed nature. The chance to make a real friend was quite exciting... "Oh, okay, like, sure. What did you have in mind?" She asked chirpily. Alice Morrow "We should be, like, BFFs!" ulla

"Like, ew, I hate offices..." The Office Princess Sunny couldn't hide a big smile has he text her number, because of course that also meant that he had memorised her number! Sure, maybe he was pulling it out of a database or something, she suspected that the Program had something like that, but she preferred to think it meant he had his eye on her for a while. In fact, it even made swapping phone numbers feel like a cleverer ploy. These days, you just got added on Instagram or Facebook, but asking for a number took extra effort, and the fact he was willing to do it? Well, that was a good sign! She was completely oblivious to any disapproval when he mentioned he hadn't thought of heroing in the manner she had mentioned, so she just offered a bright, cheerful smile. "See? People think I'm ditzy, but I am like, totally smart really!" She beamed, obviously proud of herself. Let all those people who said she was a stereotypical blonde be darned! She was clever and she had just proven it! When he suggested flying down in front of the coffee shop together, her eyes lit up. Just like he thought, she was thinking about how great that'd be for her profile. Sunny Slater, dating a fellow superhero, descending from the heavens together as everybody tried to snap their photo! It was too good to be true! She was practically beaming a smile. But wait. Hang on. "I didn't know you could fly!" She was actually super excited about that. Flight was an amazing gift, but one she didn't really get to share with anybody. If Stephen could fly too, then it'd be great for them. As a couple. Because they were totally dating now, right? This was gonna be SO awesome! Then she realised that saying she didn't know he could fly totally revealed she'd only checked out his profile because of how cute he was, not because of his powers. She hoped he wouldn't notice... "C'mon! Let's go!" She beamed, excited, taking his hand to lead him out of the building, practically over-flowing with bubbly joy... "This is gonna be great for my profile!" Two Heroes Unite! Paladin's words swirled in Sunny's head even as she stepped out to meet the children. She had always been dreaming of being a hero. Dreaming of having responsibility. That word hadn't even been on Sunny's radar when she was a little girl. She already had everything she could want, so what she dreamed of was being the prettiest, the most fashionable, she dreamed of being loved and everybody's eyes being on her. She dreamed of being a star. She didn't even care what kind of star; at the time 'superhero' seemed an impossibility. She just wanted to be famous. No, more than that, she knew she would be famous. With her Mom, how could she not? It was with an odd sense of self reflection then that Sunny stepped out to meet the children, and of course as their faces lit up to see her, for a moment, her concerns were forgotten as she moved between the kids, greeting each one, posing for the odd photo with them and signing whatever they handed her way. Quite a few of the kids had nothing for her to sign, and Sunny wished she'd thought of bringing some prints with her to hand out. Or even some Gravity Girl dolls, because she felt awful they had so little. They all seemed to like her and embrace her, in a way she was familiar with really. Of course, to them she was the glamorous celebrity, graceful, gentle and kind. And for once, taller than everybody meeting her! While Paladin was a lot more down to Earth, Sunny represented that Hollywood glamour, and a lot of them seemed to enjoy and appreciate that, but even as each of them smiled to meet her, somewhere in her heart, Sunny felt it break. It just felt so unfair. These kids admired her so, but had so little. And what did she have that made her worthy of admiration? Powers by luck and wealth by birthright? She looked over at Paladin, who had dreamed of being a hero all her life, and felt like such fraud. When they finally finished, Paladin looked over at Sunny, and asked if she enjoyed it. At first, Sunny just gave a bubbly response, her usual winning smile and spoiled blonde girl pep. "Yeah, it was, like, totally great." She answered, but again, there was that slightly pained pause from her. As if she had something she wanted to get off her chest. "It just felt... unfair, y'know?" She commented, because Sunny was no good at keeping thoughts inside her head. She pretty much never had an idea she didn't articulate. "Like, they've all got nothing... and it's not their fault. I've never... known a life like that. I was always rich. Heck, with my Mom, I always knew I'd be, like, totally famous, somehow. The question was just, doing what? An actress? A singer? A model? Turns out, I'm a superhero! Did NOT see that one coming. But still, like, it was never a question for me. I just... knew it'd happen. I had everything. And they've got nothing. And like, what's the difference between us? Why did I deserve to get everything and they didn't? It just... doesn't seem fair..." She sighed, her shoulders slumping a little, a far cry from the usual spoiled rich girl cheer Sunny usually had. "And then I look at you. And like, I think about what you said. You always wanted to help people. You always wanted to be a hero. I was dreaming of having a dream house and a pink convertible and you grew up always WANTING the responsibility of saving people. Like, you deserve these powers. You deserve to be a superhero. I'm just a spoiled brat who got lucky. And like, I don't know how it's fair for me to look those kids back there in the eyes, and tell them it's okay, when they got so screwed over and I got everything." She explained, sounding thoroughly miserable. "I'm sorry. I sound like, even MORE spoiled, right? Whining 'cause, what? I've got it TOO good. It's just, when I look at you, how genuine you are, how naturally being a hero comes to you, how good you are inside, without even thinking, I just... feel dumb. Like a fraud. Like, I can wear the costume and be on the posters and have all the cute capes in the world, but at the end of the day, I'll never be a proper hero. Not like you." It was unusual for Sunny to admit she admired somebody else and to see her own flaws, but Paladin had a way of making her see them. There was a reason Sunny, despite her wealth and fame and reach, wasn't half as popular of a hero as Paladin. It was because there was no way to bleed the natural heroism and goodness Paladin had. You just had to have it. And Sunny was realising she did not... Alice Morrow "We should be, like, BFFs!" ulla

"I am, like, so totally super dark...." So Dark and Edgy Sunny watched as the dog approached her, and despite her best efforts, she couldn't help but squeal and offer a smile that really lived up to the name 'Sunny'. It was no good. Sunny would never be any good at being 'dark and moody'. She was just too excited by the presence of the dog. Buddy, she'd said his name was. So cute!
"Who's a good boy? Who's a good boy? You are! Yes you are! Yes you are!" Sunny beamed at the dog, reaching out to give it a cautious pet, even as it kept its distance. She winced slightly as she stood back up, her arm in the sling sending a twinge of pain as she did so. She was healing, definitely, but it was a slow process. Especially for somebody who was, physically at least, as fragile as Sunny, who had no strong muscles or experience with injury to help it heal.
"Sunny Slater." She smiled back, performing a little bob of a curtsy as way of greeting. Something which suited her more when she was in pink. She really was bad at this 'dark' thing. She had to crane her neck a little to look up at the girl. Even in her heels, Alex towered over her. Then again most people did. Sunny had to resist the urge to float up and hover alongside her height. "Sorry if my make-up's not quite on point, I've only got one arm to use at the moment." This might of seemed like a weird thing to apologise for to anybody else, but for Sunny, it was THE most important thing. There was very little she valued more than her make-up.
Not that it was anything but flawless anyway.
"You're Skyscraper, right? The girl who can grow and shrink?" Sunny asked. Yes, she knew her fellow heroes. For somebody who seemed so self absorbed, Sunny was actually pretty good with people. "That must be cool! I mean, I can like, fly n' stuff, but I'm still super short. Even in my heels!" She posed in them to show them off. Not that being tall would ever make Sunny trade her heels for anything, but y'know, the sentiment was there.

"Ohhh, coffee...." Caffine Time! Sunny wasn't really feeling her best. She was still recovering from her recent wounds encountered battling the mysterious assassin that had showed up at her red carpet event, and her stomach was still tight where the knife wound was healing, and her arm was still in a sling, healing from its break. That meant no superheroics of any kind, and even her celebrity appearances were limited. She missed soaring through the air, and she surprisingly missed being a hero too. She had thought she always lived for the publicity, but she missed the way people looked at you when you saved them. She missed being the icon and the idol. She missed what she felt were more innocent times too. Before she had failed. Before somebody had died on her watch.A lot of people had watched her battle and be soundly defeated by the assassin. They had seen her naivete and trusting nature get her in trouble and they had seen a fan be murdered in cold blood when Sunny couldn't save them. And the people... had supported Sunny throughout. They loved her for it. They had seen a young girl nearly die fighting to avenge the death of one of her fans. They had seen her nearly die in front of their very eyes and rather than be the PR disaster Sunny had expected, people had seen her as the tragic victim. Despite the fact if she had been better trained she could of stopped it, despite the fact Sunny blamed herself, people adored her for the huge public effort they had seen her make.In some ways, it was everything Sunny ever wanted, but in many others, it wasn't at all. Or maybe she was just learning to be careful what she wished for. She wanted to be famous, she wanted to be loved, but not like this. She wanted to be loved for being perfect. Not for failing so badly. Not for being a victim.Even in her civilian attire, she had taken to wearing black recently, as a sign of respect for the fallen and those who had been hurt. She wasn't sure how long it'd last. In fact, soon, she'd probably switch back to her usual pink. She missed it badly. But for now, she was in a stylish, sleeveless and collarless black dress, stiletto heels that helped her tiny height very slightly, and her usual glamorous make-up and styling, the scent of lavender perfume hanging thickly around her. (Sunny thought that lavender smelled 'gothic' so she thought it suited her new dark style). She was about to place her coffee order when she turned, almost casually and without thinking, to take in the girl behind her, who had just swapped places with the man. While Maia might not of been made-up like she would be on stage, or quite in her full stage get-up, Sunny as a model herself was well versed with recognising celebrities out of their typical gear, and she had to look twice, before squealing with excitement, her eyes widening."Ohmigod!" She squealed, before realising to keep her voice down. "You're Maia Morales." She whispered over in excitement. "I'm Sunny. Sunny Slater. You might know me better as Gravity Girl." She tried a modest smile, that obviously was trying to say that she wanted to be recognised as a fellow celebrity. Before she could continue, the barista behind her coughed politely to get her attention."Oh, right, like, uh, I'll have a grand latte, double espresso, no foam, with a shot of raspberry with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. But diet." She ordered as if this was the most casual order in the world..
Or so completely impossible to actually be diet.

"This is gonna be great for my profile!" Two Heroes Unite! Sunny was always trying to be the perfect superhero. From her look to her style to her carefully cultivated media presence and the images shared of her, she was always trying to put out a flawless image. Paladin, on the other hand, had none of that. Her image, well, she always looked like a teen leaving a rock concert (or what Sunny imagined teens leaving rock concerts looked like, her Mom would never let her go to one). She never posed for pictures and she didn't seem to post online much. As far as she knew there wasn't a Paladin cartoon show in the works and she never gave out signed Paladin dollies at events (maybe Sunny should have brought some of her Gravity Girl dolls with her to give out today...). But in moments like this, Sunny felt a little ashamed. Like Paladin was so much more of a hero than she was. So effortlessly. Reassuring Sunny, understanding her, telling her how best to proceed but also talking herself down at the same time. Paladin was the hero Sunny wanted people to think she was. Just, y'know, less glamorous. Sunny could never trade in her costume or make-up or perfume or hair style for Paladin's. But that was besides the point. The point was in her easy, kind attitude. It was the sort of attitude Sunny always tried to put on, but she always felt like a little girl faking it. Paladin made it look natural. She made it look easy. "You wanted to be a superhero when growing up?" Sunny asked conversationally as she followed Paladin out of the door. "I always wanted to be Barbie." She commented, in a moment which should likely surprise nobody (and probably explained an awful lot about her). As they reached the end of the corridor and were about to step out to face the public, with deft practice Sunny reached to the back of her metallic pink belt and pulled out one of her key crime fighting gadgets. A pen for signing autographs. "Hey, did you forget a pen? You gotta sign their autographs with something! You can borrow one of my lipsticks if you like." The fact that Sunny clearly had more than one on her even in her superhero costume said a lot about Sunny. And just like that, even if it wasn't with any malice or intent, she was back to being the vain, appearance obsessed girl she usually was... Alice Morrow "We should be, like, BFFs!" ulla

"AHHHH!" Red Carpet Times! Sunny struggled to her feet with the girl's help, uneasily wobbling in those stiletto boots of her's, but at least back on her feet. Sunny wasn't sure why this girl felt she wasn't safe out here, despite her pain Sunny could still fly if she had to and had her gravity field right, but the girl herself seemed really spooked, and it made Sunny's heart break. Despite the fact this girl had tried to kill her, Sunny sympathised, and wanted to help. This girl did seem genuinely spooked, and Sunny was falling for her act completely. The only moment that nearly ruined Evelyn's plans was that she had underestimated how much of a physical wimp Sunny was, so when she said she was going to 'set' her arm, for a moment Sunny recoiled, afraid of the pain and not wanting to face it. Had the moment lasted a little longer, Sunny might of freaked out and backed away, but unfortunately, Evelyn was too quick for her. Sunny screamed in agony as her arm was twisted, and before she could blink, the knife entered her abdomen. Suddenly, Sunny felt like the entire world around her disappeared as she looked down, red blood flowing from her stomach, staining that pink costume of her's red just as Evelyn had so hoped. Sunny staggered back, not quite screaming, not quite feeling the pain yet, just in utter shock, before she lost her footing (thanks to those heels again) and fell down on to the tarmac. She was suddenly aware that she felt cold, clammy, that she felt like her entire body was fading. Every muscle felt heavy and she felt so tired. So exhausted. She continued to breath hard, in shock, as the blood flowed from the open wound, staining her cape and the tarmac red. She would of been an easy target to finish off, but the gathered crowd was watching. Several police officers broke through, levelling pistols, and she was aware of people closing in around her, to protect her, to try and stop the bleeding, as slowly she slipped in to the cold, comfortable blackness of unconsciousness... "Like, ew, I hate offices..." The Office Princess Sunny paused awkwardly, holding one arm in the other when he commented about her Mom. Was that kind of lame? That was kind of lame, right? Admitting that your Mom did a lot of your work for you. She tried to laugh it off with a nervous giggle. "Well, Mom is... she's kinda this famous publicist, so she... you know, just, like, um, gave me some tips." Sunny had also been raised to never talk badly about her Mom, and she loved her to bits, but she wanted to try to sound like a little bit less of a child, so she helped playing it cool and making it sound like she just got a bit of advice, not that her Mom was her manager and only guide in life, was perhaps the best way to do it. "Well, I'd need your number first." She smiled when he offered to let her call him for any heavy lifting. It was meant to sound seductive, but Sunny couldn't hide her cheerfulness, so it just came out bubbly and excited. She really was terrible at flirting. Her smile faded a little when he criticised her for her attempts to save the day in the most Instagrammable way possible. Even Sunny knew when that was a criticism. "It wasn't JUST for Instagram. I mean, I stopped the bad guys. That's what's important right? And if it made a great front cover for the newspapers, that just helps promote the Hero Program! And if people like the Hero Program, it gets more funding for more heroes to save more lives, right? So like, really, it was totally the heroic thing to do!" Or so her Mom had explained it to her, but Sunny thought that logic made sense. Still, she couldn't shake the feeling that criticism had blown any of her chances with him, which was a shame, because for once she'd almost thought it was going well with a boy for once... And then he asked her for coffee. And Sunny just stood there, blinking for a moment. A date? A real live date!? She had never been asked on a real live date! Ohmigod! She had to get changed! She had to pick out an outfit and re-do her make-up and her her hair done and- She realised she might of been SLIGHTLY over-reacting. It was just coffee. She couldn't run off to change. Besides, maybe it'd do her profile good for Gravity Girl to be seen with a boyfriend? She smiled ridiculously over-enthusiastically. "Ohmigod, I've love to get coffee!" She practically squealed. "I am, like, so totally super dark...." So Dark and Edgy Sunny hated her office visits at the best of times, but this particular meeting had been even worse than she had thought. Ever since her defeat by the mysterious assassin who had stabbed her and broken her arm, Sunny's profile had been hotter than ever. Tens of thousands of fans, if not millions, had out poured support for her heroics and sent sympathy cards and flowers for her injuries, but sadly the Hero Program didn't share their enthusiasm. Regardless of the attempt to stop the assailant Sunny had been seen to put in, it didn't change the fact that she was defeated, and soundly defeated at that, by a powerless human. Which was always a possibility, of course, but for somebody with Sunny's powers, it had come as a shock. She should have been, theoretically at least, always protected by her gravity field. It was why she was an active hero despite scoring poorly in all of her training.
Now the intense discussion was about sending her back to basic training and that she wasn't capable to be a hero, but the challenges in doing that given her current popularity and public profile. Sunny, who had decided to wear her new black costume (despite the fact her arm was still in a sling) to the discussion had expected this sign of how seriously she was taking the affair to win the directors over, but it seemed 'but I'm wearing black, not pink!' didn't quite have the impact she wanted. Even her begging that her perfume was lavender scented (which was clearly dark and gothic and serious) didn't impress them. In fact, it somehow made things worse.
Not that Sunny understood how ever discussing perfume made things worse.
Eventually they agreed that she should spend her recovery time studying techniques and protocol (since she was in no shape to train) before returning to active duty, which she agreed to. But she was sulking about it because she had thought instead she could use her recovery time doing plenty of shopping and interviews on the talk show circuit...
She decided to clear her head in the garden, which is when the tell tale sound of her ridiculously high stiletto boots (now black, of course) clicking on the path, or the flood of said lavender perfume, so strong it smelled like she had bathed in it, would alert the other woman currently in the garden. She spotted the other woman, who she recognised simply because of course Sunny knew her rival rather famous superheroines (although she didn't have anywhere near the social media presence of Sunny, of COURSE). She decided this was a good chance to try out her new, edgy, 'dark' attitude.
And then she saw the dog.
"OH EM GEE! Your doggy is, like, so totally cute!" She squealed in excitement, rushing over to get a closer look, although unsurprisingly, the dog kept its distance. Oddly enough, Sunny's insane levels of perfume could do that with animals. She then paused, and tried to look a little more casual. "Uh, I mean, like, uh, it's... okay." She said in her best attempt to act moody and edgy. It was pretty terrible because it was obvious Sunny was just exploding with excitement and joy at seeing the dog and just wanted to squeal and cheer with joy....

"AHHHH!" Red Carpet Times! Sunny lay on her back, wimpering and groaning, still in too much pain to really acknowledge what was going on around her. There were some observers still snapping photos, the type of thing that would normally leave Sunny aghast, but the coddled and naive girl was too focused on the agony she was in to be able to be aware of it. What was interesting and something Sunny was currently unaware of however was they weren't mocking her, but people were looking on with concern and admiration. Sunny always thought making yourself look perfect was the most important thing in the world, but people were seeing her for the first time not as a popularity obsessed celebrity, but somebody who had put herself in real danger (and taken real injury) trying to protect her fans. Sunny would never of imagined it happening, but people were actually admiring her for being so badly beaten trying to protect people. The girl approached, apparently thrilled that Sunny had saved her. For a moment, Sunny allowed herself a smile. For all her flaws and love of the spotlight, Sunny still liked being a good person, and hearing she had saved somebody made her feel good inside, until she realised who the speaker was. Her own assailant. She had saved her, sure, but she had saved her from a danger they had only been in because she broke her arm! She was also claiming that she had been controlled. Sunny heard the words, and like with most people, her inclination was to believe them. Sunny was terribly naive, and always believed people, although there was a nagging thought at the back of her head. She couldn't place or understand it, but she'd seen those eyes when the girl had been attacking. Part of her knew there was no mercy or love there. But Sunny couldn't quite process this and understand it properly, and so tentatively reached out to accept her help. "You're, like, still gonna have to be arrested. You killed those people!" She said, realising no matter what, this was now an issue for the police. Evelyn Winters "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" ulla

"AHHHH!" Red Carpet Times! The pain was unreal to Sunny. She literally wasn't equipped to handle it. In her perfect little pink perfumed world, she had never experienced anything even resembling this level of agony. The only thing that kept her conscious was the roaring wind as the two plummeted out of the sky, her dark pink cape fluttering around them, like an incredibly girly, perfumed blanket, that only served to block out the impending impact with the ground below. She was in so much pain that she missed Evelyn's initial taunt, which was probably a shame, as she raised a good point, and had Sunny had any real life experience at this point, she might of been better equipped to handle it, but she was more than aware when Evelyn started to talk about how they were about to die. Sunny knew that she was right, she was trying to focus, but she couldn't think about anything but the pain, how every time she caught a glimpse of her flapping arm (which as they fell only hurt more) she felt physically queasy. She was sure she was going to throw up any second. But she had to try. She had to try and not think about the pain. Just for a moment she had to focus on her ability to fly. She tried, she tried to feel that power that otherwise came so naturally to her... For a moment, she jolted, slowing a little, before speeding up again. God, it hurt so much. She just couldn't focus. She tried to block out the agony, to try and not think about it, and she realised slowly that she could, just about. For brief moments, she could halt their descent. If she timed it right, she could stop herself just above the ground and manage a landing... But her attacker would go splat if she did that. Which Sunny didn't really see as a bad thing. That girl had broken her arm. Sure, she was meant to be the 'good' superhero, but she could just tell people that she had TRIED to save her and failed. Nobody would complain or question it. Besides, it wasn't like she had killed her herself or anything. She had brought this on all on her own by hurting her while they were flying... But somehow, through the fog of all the pain and the panic over the fact they were about to die, Sunny realised that if she did that, then it really was all a lie. She knew she wasn't the typical superhero type, that sometimes she was more concerned about other things, but she also believed that in her heart, she was a true superhero. When she needed to be, she always stepped up and did the hero thing (even if she made sure she was glamorous and beautiful while doing it). If she let this attacker die, she wouldn't be that anymore. She'd always know in her heart that she was a fraud. That when faced with a difficult choice, she hadn't taken the path of the hero. She couldn't do that. The realisation gave her the clarity and concentration to activate one of her powers, but not more than one. "I... I can't fly and protect myself with my gravity field!" She yelled back, realising now that she could do one or the other, but not both. "That means... I can't... carry you!" Although her gravity field didn't give her super strength or anything, it did make her a basic immovable object, so hanging off of her would be like hanging off a block of concrete. But without it? She was an 80 pound weakling who wouldn't have the strength to hold Evelyn at all. "You're gonna... have to really hold on. I'm not strong enough to help." She admitted, and then, she closed her eyes, and she did everything she could to focus. Just above the ground, she managed to slow their descent, defying gravity's laws to slow herself right down. Her entire body screamed in pain, not only did her arm hurt, but where Evelyn was clinging to her body without her defences, her weak muscles screamed in protest, but she managed to just about stop them a few feet above the ground, before they both dropped on to the concrete, mostly safely, although Sunny instantly collapsed and laid on her back, groaning and crying in agony, mascara streaming down her face with her tears... "Up, up and away!" Red Carpet Times! Sunny was aware of Evelyn grappling with her as she ascended, higher and higher, in to the sky, her gravity field still up to protect her from harm. It took a lot of concentration, using both of her powers at once, but she was focused, more out of self preservation than anything else, terrified of what that girl might do while grappling on to her. Sure enough, she went for her neck, starting to choke her. Sunny had to focus her gravity field around her neck, to give herself room to breathe, but concentrating on that, her field keeping the rest of her safe, and her flight was difficult, and she was aware that she beginning to choke, unable to protect her otherwise skinny neck at all times. Theoretically, Sunny could render herself basically impervious from physical harm, unless you hit her with a moon. By nature of increasing the gravity field around her body, she could make herself an utterly immovable object, including her limbs. She'd be like a solid statue that could withstand anything. But to do that, she had to concentrate, she had to be able to focus on her defences. Not focus on flying, on the pain and bruises from being battered by objects, focus on the horror that two people had died and she hadn't been able to save them, not focus on the fact that her neck was being choked and while her gravity field was protecting her from the pain, it wasn't from the fact she couldn't expand her neck to breath again. In other words, while Sunny's powers were formidable when used correctly, she was in no position to do any of those things thanks to Evelyn's outmanoeuvring of her, and this meant that when her attacker took her arm and pulled it back, Sunny could do nothing. CRACK! Her skinny arm snapped like a twig, and suddenly Sunny's entire world went white hot with pain. She had never felt anything like it ever. Sunny had never experienced much hardship, especially not true physical pain, and the agony of the break left her screaming. A pure shriek of pain and agony, childish, but also utterly pure pain, like a yelping kitten that had just had its tail stood on. It would of been a sweet victory for Evelyn, but unfortunately something else happened. With Sunny's arm broken and her mind focused entirely on the unbearable agony, her concentration was shattered. Suddenly, and it would of felt obvious, she stopped accelerating upwards. And then, moments later, she was falling, cape and miniskirt fluttering around her in a manner that was hugely undignified, as the pair of them plummeted back down towards the Earth, and a doubtlessly very fatal landing, unless Sunny could get her mind together and concentrate through the blaring pain... Which seemed unlikely because at the moment all she was doing was screaming and crying... Evelyn Winters "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" ulla [/quote]

"Okay, like, you just made a mistake..." Red Carpet Times! Blow after blow landed on Sunny and she wailed, but at the same time, like the reflex to throw your arms up when somebody threw something at you, her gravity powers itched at the back of her mind, and she had to struggle to keep them from activating. But as soon as she saw through the blur of objects that her attacker had let her hostage go, Sunny knew she had to act. Sunny was, as many observed, a bit of a spoiled ditz (if you removed the phrase 'a bit of'). She had skipped or texted her way through the majority of the Hero Program's training, feeling it didn't apply to her because of her powers, but she was, at least, aware of her abilities. Her mother made sure of that. After all, a hero who didn't know how to use their powers wasn't marketable. And she did, under all of her vanities and flaws, have a good heart, and that good heart sometimes worked hard to find out the best way to use her powers. Now her assailant had given her a chance to activate her powers, she could block them, but the question would be, what then? She'd just attack the civilians again. Sunny had to get them both away from the civilians. And sadly away from the cameras, which meant the last shot they'd have was her crying, which would be a PR nightmare! Maybe after she beat her (and quickly fixed her make-up) she could get some shots of her dragging her back to the police station. That might help. So now she had only one way to react. So far, this attacker knew her gravity shield was pretty much impenetrable, but what Sunny hoped she didn't know was how fast Sunny could fly. Thanks to manipulating gravity fields, Sunny could essentially make it so she went from standing still to 'falling' at terminal velocity in flight, which was something just over 200 miles an hour, with little to no acceleration. She couldn't go any faster than that (not without killing herself) but she figured that would be more than enough. So in a sudden movement, Sunny burst forwards, no longer having to worry about hostages, her gravity field up to protect her. This caused the knife to ricochet off of her before she collided with her attacker. Sunny had nothing in the way of strength, she was weak even by somebody built like a size zero supermodel, meaning she couldn't lift half of her assailant's body weight, but she figured colliding with her like an overly perfumed pink bullet would at least carry the two far enough away before she managed to get untangled from Sunny's body...
