"Uh like, I totes don't need training." Ew, this better not ruin my nails! Sunny had thought at first when the Program had contacted her while she was in New York, attending a red carpet launch of a new perfume she had endorsed, that perhaps it was a new exciting publicity opportunity for her. Something to help launch her superhero career in New York, as well as in LA. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be. Apparently, while she was in New York, they wanted her to report to training. She thought the whole thing was a waste of time. She was Gravity Girl. What did they need to teach her? She was one of the most powerful heroes in the Program, and one of the most famous. There really wasn't much else for her to learn. Still, she thought she had better show up. By which she meant she whined and protested until she was told in no uncertain terms that she wasn't special and she wasn't allowed to skip training, and if she didn't attend she'd find herself in a boot camp for the next few months, so reluctantly she accepted and decided to fly to meet her new trainer, who apparently had decided they'd train outside. She supposed that could make for some nice publicity shots. She floated down from the air, her pink cape fluttering behind her. Finding the spot had been easy enough, despite her ditziness, Sunny always knew how to follow a satnav position. Namely because she often used it for finding the best photoshoot locations. She paused, hovering just above the ground, her heels not quite touching down because she didn't want to get them dirty. With her came an overwhelming aura of perfume which could shock anybody who hadn't met Sunny face to face yet. While Sunny didn't quite literally bathe in perfume, it wasn't for a lack of trying. She loved the stuff, and wore enough of it to make most people's eyes water. "Hiya!" She beamed. "You don't mind if I keep hovering, do you? My heels might sink in the grass and they'd get totally ruined!" She said with aghast shock, as if this was the most terrible thought imaginable. "Give me a sec, I just gotta check my hair. You know what it's like when you've been flying." She explained, pulling a compact off of her utility belt and examining herself in the mirror, fanning her hair out with a small foldable hairbrush and checking that she looked perfect. Just for the heck of it, she freshened up her lip gloss, transfixed for a moment by her own reflection. "Totes cute wings, by the way. You're like a real life Tinker Bell! That's sooooooooo cool!" She smiled happily, deciding that she was already making friends. Besides, if she was super nice, maybe she'd get out of any training too hard. She absent minded started spraying on even more perfume, despite most definitely not needing any... Aoi Sato "Yuck! Grass!" ulla

"Ohhh, coffee...." Caffine Time! Sunny peered at the sling, and smiled as she took it in. It was definitely cute. Of course, Sunny would prefer it being all in pink, but truthfully, that was true of just about anything Sunny looked at. If she had a personal motto, it'd be 'life is better in pink'. Oh, that was quite good, actually, she thought. Maybe she could use that as a slogan for her own Gravity Girl clothing line (which obviously her mother was working on).
"Oh, it's so cute!" She beamed. "I'm gonna have to, like, see if I can order one. Maybe all in pink?" She suggested, because of course she had to say it out loud, in case anybody doubted her dedication to pink at all times. Especially now she was wearing mourning black a lot, she had to make sure people didn't think her dedication to the colour had faded.
"Pockets are like, totally over-rated anyway. I mean, hello! That's what an entourage are for. Carrying your stuff! Plus, as a hero, I've got a belt with compartments, 'cause, like, pockets would totally ruin the lines of my outfit." She explained, because of course somebody as spoiled as Sunny didn't carry her own things. Unless on superhero duty, and even then it was essential superhero equipment. Like her make-up. And some perfume. And of course, a hair brush. And a small compartment of glitter to put in her hair for any particularly special photograph opportunity.
You know, superhero essentials.
"Oh, it's not dangerous." Sunny giggled dismissively. "At least, like, not most of the time. I mean, I'm kinda invincible when my gravity shield is up, so I'm not exactly worried, and like, it's fun saving people! Plus, like, I'm WAY more famous now than I was when I was just a model, and the whole acting thing didn't work out, so like, what else could I do?" Because the thought of not being famous to Sunny was of course unthinkable, she was utterly sincere when she said this. But she did really like helping people. It made her feel good, and it felt great to be loved. She had always been famous, but viewed as quite vapid and shallow, rich and spoiled and entitled, whereas now people looked at her as a hero. At least, her fans did, and she loved it.
She paused though, when she called the scar a 'badge of honour'. She looked away for a moment, a slight sadness appearing in her eyes. "I think for it to be a badge of honour, I'd of had to have, like, won. It's just a reminder of how badly I messed up. I wish I could get rid of it." She admitted. Maybe she should consider surgery to remove it. There were all kinds of clever surgeries now, right? She didn't need to display it at all times.
She laughed a little when Maia politely told her that her choice of outfit wasn't really a 'mistake', since her mother picked it for her, and Sunny just rolled her eyes. "Like, it had sequins. In December, in 2009! Like, hello! Could I have BEEN any more off season?" She laughed, as if this was the ultimate disaster and she had been an utter idiot for doing it. Despite the fact she'd of only been nine at the time. Sunny seemed to believe that fashion choices were genetically coded in to you.
She nodded solemnly at Maia's advice about moving on from her failure. It was similar to what everybody told her, but it was so much easier to say than do. Dwelling was bad, not just from a mental health standpoint, but a career standpoint too. You had to push past your failures and find something new for people to love. But it was so hard. She had never failed so completely in her life. Never to the extent of somebody getting hurt because of her. She had thought it was bad enough when her Disney show got cancelled (thanks to her own terrible acting), but this was even worse. Somebody had died because of her.
Luckily, Maia found the perfect secret to distracting Sunny, by showing her her outfit, which caused Sunny's eyes to light up in delight. "Ohmigod, it's so sexy! Your legs look amazing and I love the top! It's so cute!" Truthfully, it was a bit sexier than anything Sunny would feel confident wearing, she likes skirts and dresses more than having all of her legs on show, but that didn't mean she couldn't appreciate how good it looked on somebody else. Plus, seeing it like that KIND of made her want to try it, but she knew her Mom would never approve. Sunny had a 'cute innocence' vibe to her appearances, as her mother called it, and she wasn't allowed to stray from it.
Sunny looked at Maia with a gasp and shock when she said she'd never been Disney as a kid, and worse, thought it was 'overrated'! "Ohmigod! You must not be doing it right! There are like, ALL kinds of secrets to getting the best out of Disney World! You gotta come with me sometime! I'll show you like, how to have the BEST vacation ever!" She insisted, eyes glittering with Disney filled passion.
Yes, Sunny really could just be a spokesperson for the Disney Corporation...

"Ohmigod! Bestie!" We're Best Friends Now!! Sunny sensed some reluctance in Alice's voice, which to be fair, for Sunny was a good catch. After all, she was usually so ditzy that it would never occur to her that anybody would be reluctant to go shopping with her. But somehow, she knew that Alice would take further persuading on her genius plan. She put it down to their super special best friend bond that they clearly had since they were obviously besties now. "C'mon! Think about it! It'll be SUPER fun. 'cause you're right, I'm kinda famous right, and if anybody recognises me, they'll probably recognise you too, and it'll totally wreck your superhero identity. But like, everybody knows you don't dress all girly. So if you're seen in all pink nobody will ever suspect it's you! Plus you'd look AH-MAZ-ING." Sunny explained her new plan. Of course the flaw in the plan was that Sunny would have to dress like Alice, but, well, maybe that'd be fun too? In like, a one-off, experimental way. Maybe she'd finally learn what all the fuss was about with wearing flat shoes and sneakers. She just didn't get it, they weren't cute, they weren't sexy, and they made you look small. Life without high heels wasn't worth living, Sunny thought, but well, she supposed she could try it just once.<p> "C'mon! It'll be fun!" Sunny beamed happily. "I never get to go shopping with anybody anymore!" Yes, that was probably because even Sunny's personal shoppers had retired or quit in fear now, but she wasn't going to point that out. "We can even take my car like a couple of normal people instead of flying if you like! It'll be like a proper girly shopping trip!" She beamed brightly, as if this was the greatest thing in the world. For somebody who had decided Alice was her new best friend, she really didn't understand Alice very well. "Ohmigod! Bestie!" We're Best Friends Now!! Sunny smiled proudly at Alice's astonishment at her wardrobe. Of course, she only took it as a good thing that Alice was impressed. She didn't think that there could be any negativity or disbelief in her astonishment. After all, with all of Sunny's money, why wouldn't she own this many outfits and why wouldn't they all be pink? Why would she even own other colours? What was even the point in other colours? Everybody knew pink was the best! When she commented on how Sunny hadn't been out much before, Sunny gave a bit of a nervous laugh. This was, of course, true. Well, at least not socially, but Sunny didn't want to look like a total loser. She was rich, she was famous, she was pretty, she didn't want Alice knowing that she didn't actually have any friends or ever get to really get out. "Well, um, I go to, like, movie premiers and stuff. They count!" She said optimistically, but then her smile fell a little. "But, um, n-not really, like, not really with friends before..." She admitted after a pause, before looking, by her standards, incredibly shy. "I don't... Um, I don't really, like, have any friends." She turned away for a moment, feeling like a total loser, before realising that wasn't true. She had one friend. Alice. Alice was her friend! "Except you!" She said cheerfully, finding her unwavering optimism again. She did, at least listen when she explained why the cocktail dress wasn't practical, and put it back as suggested. She also listened to Alice's rather well thought out and heartfelt plea that she not wear pink (not that Sunny understood how fuchsia was pink, they were clearly different!). "But the only not-pink thing I own is my black Gravity Girl costume, and I can't wear that!" She pointed out, before pausing at Alice's suggestion of the clothes she brought. Was she suggesting what Sunny thought she was suggesting? "But you're like, totally way taller than me, I can't wear your outfits, and you can't wear mine." She pointed out, before her eyes suddenly lit up with an idea. "Ohmigod, BUT, the best way for us not to get caught, right? Like, if you dress LIKE me, and I dress LIKE you, nobody will ever realise who we are! 'cause like, you never wear pink and heels and stuff, and I never wear anything BUT pink, so they won't suspect a thing! I know some late night malls around here, we can totally go clothes shopping and get ourselves some outfits, and dress as each other! It'll be, like, totally fun! Like a costume party!" She beamed. "I love costume parties! I always go as Aurora or Rapunzel because, hello, cute pink dresses, but one year I went as a pink Tinker Bell!" She added happily, not surprising anybody that her entire costume library consisted of Disney characters... Alice Morrow "Do you like my room!?" ulla

"Ohhh, coffee...." Caffine Time! Sunny smiled at the offer of being shown a picture of the sling, and it was a genuine smile. Sunny might of been a superhero, but there was little she loved more than sharing pics of fashion. Her phone was overloaded with photos of, well, herself in all her fashion walks and poses and thousands of (pink) outfits, so she could relate to having a photo to hand of her in any possible outfit. "Ohhh, yes! I'd totally love to see it! You gotta show me!" She said cheerfully as she made her way to the table with Maia.
When she commented on how scary it must of been, Sunny paused and only nodded, going quiet for a moment.<br> "Yeah... it... it was... terrifying. I mean, we're meant to like, train for that, but... I've always been, y'know, basically invincible. I've never... I've never really been hurt before." She explained sheepishly, but she still felt selfish, even now, talking about her injuries. Of course, Maia was right that Sunny could hide the scar with body make-up, Sunny was a big fan of the miracle that was make-up in all situations, but it wasn't quite the same. Surgery might too, but she was pretty sure the scar was there forever. "Yeah, I mean, like, maybe. I hate going in the water anyway. I don't wanna get my hair wet. But, like, all the media knows I got stabbed, so when the paparazzi and stuff take my pic, people would be looking for it." The 'when', not 'if', summed up Sunny's experience with the media. She was used to people snapping pictures of her where ever she went. Which of course, she loved.
"I-I know. I mean, everybody makes mistakes. It's not like I've never made mistakes before. Like, ohmigod, what was I wearing at the world premier of Avatar? God, I mean, I know I was a kid, but I can't believe I ever lived that down!" She said dramatically, smiling slightly. (The answer was a metallic pink flared dress and huge bow, for those curious as to what her Mom had dressed young Sunny in). "But, like, when you make a mistake in the modelling world, I guess, the worse that happens is you get a bad photo. Which, like, don't get me wrong, is TOTALLY serious, but kinda... it kinda pales in comparison. Because of my mistake, somebody is dead. And that's forever. I can learn, I can change, I can get better, but that person... They're never coming back. And it's all my fault." She explained sadly, before managing another smile and a slight shake of her head, as if trying to remove the malaise she was feeling.
"Sorry. It's not very heroic to, like, keep whining about it. But... I guess, it just really bothers me. I've never... I've never failed like that before." She explained with a sigh. "Anyway, you gotta show me this outfit! I can't wait to see it!" She shook off the sadness went right back to what made Sunny happy. Clothes.
When Maia mentioned her Mom was her manager too, Sunny's face lit up. A kindred spirit! "Ohmigod, that's so totally cool! I've never met anybody who's Mom is their manager too before! Ohmigod, I bet we have so much in common!" She said with excitement. She mentioned how her Mom wasn't quite like Sunny's; Sunny's Mom had been famous long before Sunny had been born, and so Sunny had never known anything but the spotlight. She shrugged a little when Maia asked what it was like. "I dunno, I love it. I mean, like, everybody knows me and I always get cute pics and it's so fun. But I guess, I dunno what it'd be like to not be known, y'know? Like, my entire life has been like this. I mean, I can't imagine walking down the street and like, people, not knowing who I am or thinking how cute I look." Something in Sunny's spoiled tones suggested this was her worse nightmare. Yes, she was a sweet person, with a good heart and true regrets over letting people down, but at the same time, she was pretty much vanity personified, and it really showed sometimes.<p>
"Plus, like, I was rich! Do you know some poor people can't even afford to go to Disney World!? Like, ohmigod, can you imagine a childhood without visiting Disney!?" Sunny gasped at the horrible thought, as if she was sharing a shocking tale of famine and poverty.

"Ohmigod! Bestie!" We're Best Friends Now!! Sunny gave Alice a slightly confused look when she tried to quieten Sunny down from her over-excited squealing, before she realised that Alice was under the impression that they had to be secretive. She smiled and shook her head as if Alice had been silly. "Don't worry, Mom's out and the staff let me do what I want." Because of course Sunny had staff. Plural. "Oh, I can let Chef know you're here and he can make us some dinner!" She suggested with her usual bubbly excitement, again, because of course Sunny had a live-in Chef. When Alice confirmed that they might be trying on clothes together, Sunny looked excited, because that was her favourite pastime (not that she hadn't been doing it anyway), but when Alice confirmed that she was actually there to take her out, something changed in Sunny's attitude. She went from just smiling to suddenly looking overjoyed, and her eyes filled with tears as she threw her skinny arms around Alice for another perfume soaked hug. "Ohmigod. Nobody ever... Nobody ever wants to do anything with me... Thank you, thank you, thank you...." She was almost crying from happiness, and it was obvious that she was incredibly touched by the gesture. It was true that for all of Sunny's fame, she was usually unapproachable and had very few real friends. If any that weren't stuffed animals. Some might put it down to her controlling mother, but really, Sunny's general vanity and overly excited child like attitude tended to put people off, not to mention the perfume. The fact that Alice was offering to be her true friend touched Sunny so deeply she had to force herself not to cry. Crying was bad. Even with her expensive make-up it ran the risk of ruining it, and she couldn't allow that! She sniffled to stop herself from crying, but the shock of what Alice said next helped. "Not... wear... pink?" She repeated, with a dainty frown of confusion. (Sunny had been well trained to control her facial expressions; frowning hard wasn't an attractive look, and it could ruin heavy make-up!). She looked at Alice like she had grown a second head, or proposed that perhaps flat footwear would be more practical than heels (the second one being even crazier!). She seemed to pause, think for a moment, and then her eyes lit up. "Ohhh, hold on, I've got the cutest dress!" She squealed, before heading to what might of deceptively looked like a door to a restroom or perhaps a cupboard and threw it open, revealing a huge walk-in wardrobe that was larger than even her bedroom. And of course, wall to wall with pink attire of every style you could imagine. She hurried through the room, moving between the various dresses like somehow she had an encyclopedic knowledge of every item in there (Sunny might of been terrible at hero training, but ask her to memorise the layout of her closet and she'd do it in seconds) before she pulled out an elegant evening dress. Which to the casual observer was very pink. "What do you think!? I mean, it's totally fuchsia, not pink, but I still think it's cute!" She beamed. Yes, that was as extreme as Sunny was willing to go in the 'not pink' department. Alice Morrow "Do you like my room!?" ulla

"Ohmigod! Bestie!" We're Best Friends Now!! Sunny would of argued, had she known Alice's description of her room had come about, that her room wasn't entirely pink. It wasn't entirely pink at all! Yes, okay, so the carpet was pink, and so were the walls (a nice shade of baby pink), and yes, the ceiling was a soft pink. Yes, obviously, the poster bed was entirely pink, as were the sheets and duvet cover (although the duvet cover was hot pink, entirely different), and yes, the wardrobes were obviously pink (of which there were a great many), and her huge wooden vanity table was, naturally, a baby pink, but, well, if you looked closely, some of the dozens of stuffed animals on her bed weren't pink. One was a white rabbit! And her jewellery box, while pink, was full of gold jewellery. And the literal hundreds of perfume bottles she had on display on pink shelving, while largely were pink (and the liquid within pink; Sunny believed perfume smelled better when it was pink), some of the caps were gold or silver! And the mirror was, well, reflective, so that wasn't pink. And obviously, she was in it, and she wasn't pink either, which was totally different! ....Okay, so maybe the room was a bit pink. Sunny herself, being in the room and thinking she was unobserved, was making the best use of her time. Which was to say she was posing in front of a full length mirror in a small pink cocktail dress and trying out different model poses for imaginary cameras, because this was obviously the most important way to spend her time. She jumped when the knock came on the window, and span around with a squeal, only to see Alice outside. A perfect array of emotions played across her heavily made-up face (yes, even in the comfort of her own home, Sunny wore celebrity style make-up, even with false lashes). She was shocked, and then suddenly confused, taking a moment to recognise Alice out of costume, and then, suddenly, thrilled, so thrilled, she literally flew to the window to open it, throwing it open with glee. "ALICE!" She squealed, grabbing her friend through the window for a big hug. Alice would know from experiencing Sunny before that hugs from here were an ordeal; the girl wore so much perfume they could make your eyes water, but somehow, it was worse in her bedroom, where obviously she constantly applied her scent, and it had seeped in to the very walls. The entire room was shockingly thick with it. It was hard for your brain not to imagine a pink haze in the air. "Ohmigod, like, what are you doing here? Come in! Come in!" It was obvious Sunny didn't have many visitors, or indeed, real friends at all, but it was also clear that she was extremely excited to have one visit. "Oh em gee! I can't, like, believe you're here! This is the best thing ever!" She said with a huge smile. Yes, her Mom probably wouldn't approve of a visitor, but she didn't need to know. The mansion was so large that her Mom would never hear even if she was in, and Sunny was pretty sure she was out on an engagement this evening. "Ohmigod, you gotta hang out with me! We can try on clothes together and talk about boys! It's gonna be so great!" She beamed, obviously super excited but without a clue for what Alice actually had in store for her. "This is gonna be great for my profile!" Two Heroes Unite! "O-oh, um, right, of course." Sunny nodded, pretending that she already knew every school didn't teach ballroom dancing. She had just thought it was a normal part of the curriculum, but was now aware it was another sign of the divide between the two. For all of her vanity and media obsession, Sunny never wanted to come off as a rich snob, especially to Alice, who she was desperately hoping would be her friend, and she was a little embarrassed to have said anything. Fortunately, Alice moved on, mentioning the difference between 'tough' and 'graceful'. It was a nice difference for her to notice, and Sunny certainly thought that she was on the 'graceful' side, while Alice was on the 'tough' side. Not that Sunny's powers weren't formidable, but Sunny herself was about as tough as a wet paper bag. This meant she laughed off Alice's comment that she was tough with a little dainty wave of her hand. "Oh, I'm not tough. I mean, my powers are pretty strong, but I'm, I'm not tough. Not like you." She was, however, as graceful as she had estimated, twirling elegantly when Alice span her around, perhaps still more ballroom than salsa, but nobody could argue with her form or grace. Sunny was obviously used to being twirled in formal dance situations. She giggled when Alice joked about her agent though. It was nice that Alice joked with her. Although she wasn't sure about keeping secrets from agents. Then again, Sunny's Mom was her agent and she told her everything. Keeping a secret from her Mom was a completely alien thought to Sunny, but she was still pleased that Alice told a joke with her. Sunny, despite her wealth and popularity, didn't have many true friends anymore, and she was hoping that Alice would be one. Even beyond the publicity of Gravity Girl and Paladin being friends. She just wanted somebody to talk to and be friends with. "Well, um, I don't, like, wear a mask." Sunny reminded Alice. "And I do lots of publicity shoots and interviews and stuff out of costume too, so, uh, pretty much everybody knows who I am." She pointed out. Yes, Sunny and forgone the secret identity for her fame. "But I don't mean scary 'cause of that, I mean, they look loud, and sweaty, and kinda icky." She explained her dislike, wrinkling her nose a little at the thought. Clearly Sunny had only ever seen nightclubs on television. When Alice said they should do 'it' sometime, Sunny's face lit up, although she wasn't sure what Alice was referring to. Whatever it was though, it meant that Alice was asking her to do something with her, and that meant they were real friends, right? Especially after Alice had turned down coming to visit Sunny's manor. She was just excited to have a friend! "Do you mean ballroom dancing, photos, or going to a club?" Sunny asked, confused but excited anyway. "'cause yes to the first two but my Mom won't let me do the last one." She said, trying to make it clear that she WANTED to go, but knew she wouldn't be allowed. Alice Morrow "We should be, like, BFFs!" ulla

"This is gonna be great for my profile!" Two Heroes Unite! Sunny was surprised to hear that Alice had used to be clumsy. She always seemed so calm and confident. Sunny could be a bit of a ditz, it was true, and definitely wasn't beyond a bit of clumsiness, but her natural popularity (thanks to being, well, rich and blonde) in school had led her to various dance classes, and yes, even a short time as a cheerleader, although she thought it involved too much gross sweat and exercise to keep it up for long, so she also had a natural graceful performer in her. It helped that she had been pretty much on stage one way or another since birth too, whether as a child model, teen model or now as a superhero. She was always at home on stage, even dancing, and was learning the Salsa moves pretty easily, despite her impressively unwieldy boots. "They didn't teach ballroom at your school?" Sunny's tone was one of surprise, again suggesting the big divide in the upbringing of the pair. Sunny's expensive private school had of course done ballroom dancing as a natural part of their classes. "I can't believe you were ever clumsy, You're Paladin! You're like, the toughest hero around!" She remarked, and yes, despite Sunny's self-absorbed nature, it was a genuine compliment. She would of said 'badass' but Sunny didn't like using bad words, she'd always been taught not to, and was still a massive Momma's girl when it came to doing what she was told. At least when it came from her Mom. She often found ways to get out of doing anything that she thought was too hard work or might compromise her appearance as a hero. "You get to go to nightclubs? Wow! My Mom still won't let me." Sunny remarked when Alice made the comment about nightclubs. Sunny liked the idea of going out partying, but her Mom had always been afraid of the pictures making the news, or Sunny getting drunk and being caught doing something silly. "Isn't it, like, mega scary though?" She asked. Yes, her Mom also always told her they were dens of load, crude music and drugs and horrible things, and that the dance floors were gross and your shoes stuck to the floor and that Sunny would hate it, and so the girl who actually fought criminals for a career thought that nightclubs sounded 'scary'. "Aw, I wish they were here. Pics of us two together would go viral, and be great for my profile!" She beamed when Alice seemed to be sad there were no paparazzi there. Sunny, of course, was disappointed. Here she was with Paladin, one of the most famous heroes on the planet, and there weren't even going to be any pictures in the newspaper? Sure, they were dancing together, but that just showed community spirit. Sunny, who of course often read every article about her, knew that the big negative thing people tended to say about her (apart from the fact she was vain, self-centered and wore too much perfume, all things she disagreed with) was that she was a spoiled rich kid with no idea how other people lived. By being at a community centre, and taking part in their programs, surely that proved that criticism wrong? Or it WOULD, if it could reach the papers.... Alice Morrow "We should be, like, BFFs!" ulla

"This is gonna be great for my profile!" Two Heroes Unite! Sunny smiled and listened to the dance instructions, and soon was following them. Perhaps surprisingly, given Sunny's total lack of aptitude at anything that didn't involve putting on make-up or posing for selfies, she wasn't entirely bad at it, with at least a decent sense of rhythm, even if she didn't quite manage the momentum that was expected of them or the athleticism of the other moves. And it seemed Sunny was shockingly unfit for a superhero, short of breath incredibly quickly. After all, Sunny hated exercise. Sweat was gross and yucky and nobody had ever made a gym outfit with heels so she wasn't interested. "Oh, well, like, never Salsa, but well, I did ballet and ballroom dancing when I was younger in school, like, obviously, and I've done a few modern dance classes." She answered, speaking with a tone that suggested she thought everybody learned ballroom dancing and ballet. After all, Sunny was totally unaware of what life was like outside of her protected little bubble. "What about you? Did you do, like, dance classes? Like, apart from the normal ones, of course." She added, again because Sunny thought learning ballet was normal. Again suggesting her total inability to read people. Alice Morrow "We should be, like, BFFs!" ulla

"Ohhh, coffee...." Caffine Time! Maia pointing out Sunny's sling caught her off guard a little. Her injuries had been so well publicised, she had just naturally assumed that everybody knew what had happened and seen her multiple interviews on the topic. (The concept, to Sunny Slater, that somebody wasn't watching every piece of news about her was almost inconceivable). But while it was surprising to have it pointed out, she had to try and not squeal at excitement as Maia pointed out all the fashion woes of slings. Sunny knew that only too well, and of course, she had a designer too, and a different sling for each outfit.
She also wasn't in the habit of accepting hand-me downs for anything, but that sling she mentioned did sound super cute! "Oh, wow, that like, sounds super awesome!" She smiled at the suggestion of the sling. "It really hurt, but like, not as much as getting stabbed. I thought I was gonna die! That's the worse pain I ever felt. It still aches now. And like, it's left a big scar so, bye bye bikinis forever. It's not fair." She grumbled, but she paused for a moment, a moment of doubt and reflection etched on her heavily made-up face.
"But like, I dunno, I shouldn't complain. At least I'm alive. That poor girl... She only wanted an autograph, and now she's dead. Because I was too dumb to realise what was going on. And I couldn't save her. And I've gotta live with that for the rest of my life. My arm's gonna heal, but she... she's never gonna come back. And that's gonna hurt forever." Maybe a cynical person would say that Sunny had learned to talk from the heart about the loss of someone, that she had seen the resulting media support when she spoke of it and she did it for simple likes and publicity, but for once in Sunny's life, something she was doing wasn't a carefully cultivated attempt to raise her profile.
No, this was a pure and simple reflection of her pain and guilt. Something that really did keep her up at night. It was probably good that Sunny was such a make-up fanatic to hide the dark circles under her eyes.
"Well, I was already, like, a totally famous model before I became a superhero. It's not like people wouldn't of recognised me anyway." Sunny explained casually, trying to forget about her darker thoughts as she explained. Not that it really mattered. As if Sunny had ever considered not being famous and getting her name out there. She loved the attention too much.<p>
"Oh, yeah, uh, like, thanks!" She smiled when the girl offered to help with her coffee, obviously aware of her injured arm. A better hero might of waved off the thought, but Sunny was your typical rich kid through and through, and used to having people wait on her hand and foot. Even when those people were famous pop stars.
"I guess, like, I've never thought about it that way. My Mom, she's always managed me. Like, before I was a hero I was a model, and before I was a teen model I was a child model. I've always been in the spotlight. Like, even when people didn't know me as a model my Mom knew all the famous people in Cali, so like, I guess I just... I never found it weird. It's nice having fans that like you not just 'cause of how pretty you are, though, but 'cause you like, help people too..." She went on as they walked to find a table.

"Like I am gonna buy everything!" SQUEEEE, SHOPPING!!!! Panic flooded Sunny's features. Without her powers, she was, well, powerless, completely incapable of defending herself. She took a step backwards as he approached intimidatingly, but before she could do anything, he had swept her up by the scruff of her costume (did that man have no respect for the craftsmanship of her costume? Her fashion designer would be devastated!).<p>
She squirmed feebly in his grip, but it was pointless. Sunny was the type of weakling that made your average weakling like like Arnold Schwaznegger. A spoiled life of luxury had left her without the muscle mass to open her favourite hand cream without assistance, let alone have any fight in her when grabbed, especially without her powers. He taunted her cruelly, although Sunny had ready plenty of mean comments on her Instagram feeds and on news articles about her calling her 'vapid' (like, as if!) so she had learned to ignore that particular insult, because as far as she was concerned it just meant she was really pretty and knew how to look, as she said, really pretty... But the drop?<p>
That was more of a problem. Sunny shrieked as she fell, and she would of broken an ankle on landing for sure, as there was no way to stay on her feet in her ridiculous stiletto boots, had she not gotten lucky and one of the heels snapped clean off on landing, sending her toppling over backwards instead. She landed painfully though and yelped, looking up helplessly at her attacker as he floated above her.<p>
She looked around at the panicked crowds, several filming her getting her butt kicked helplessly again. She had to do something. But what?<p>
Her eyes fell to the cracked ground. She had never cracked concrete beneath her feet in her life. But she had grown in to her powers, and he had just stolen them. Clearly he didn't know how they worked just yet. And if that was true, maybe she could use that to her advantage. Not to fight him, but to make him fight himself...<P>
Speed. That would be his weakness. By manipulating her gravity field, Sunny could potentially make herself 'fall' in any direction at terminal velocity at the drop of a hat. It was how she flew. However, there were catches. Firstly, there was actually no 'acceleration' period. She'd go from still to 200 mph almost instantly, unless she controlled it, and that took a lot of effort to get used to and react to. And her reaction times were still only human. In other words, if she wasn't careful and didn't know what she was doing, she'd fly straight in to a wall.<p>
But perhaps most critically was her speed limit. There were no hard and fast limits on how much Sunny could manipulate her gravity field by, but she was restrained by being, well, human. She could push herself beyond terminal velocity if she wanted, but she'd instantly black out and crash to the ground. Her powers could take it, but her body couldn't. She had to learn to control her speed.<p>
Something he wouldn't of learned yet.<p>
"Okay, okay, so you can like totally fly. But how fast are you? 'cause the cops are gonna come, and if you don't know how to, like, move quickly with my powers yet, you're gonna be, like, totally screwed!" She yelled up. She wanted to see him try it, to accidentally jump from standing to over 200 mph and crash in to the nearest building or black himself out. That would at least take him out for the time being...

"This is gonna be great for my profile!" Two Heroes Unite! Sunny had to disagree with Alice's description of sports being a matter of 'trying'. She had clearly never seen Sunny try to throw a ball. Although most people would say they'd never seen Sunny throw anything because what Sunny did when she attempted to do that was certainly not 'throwing'. Of course, her complete aversion to any exercise and hatred of getting, in her words, 'icky, sweaty and gross' probably also contributed to her hatred of sport...<p> "Yay! I like you, givin' me excuses not to do sport. Wish that had worked for my gym teacher in school..." Sunny joked lightly when Alice agreed with her about the sport option. She gave her a surprised look when Alice commented on ruining her costumes though. "But, ohmigod, what do you do, for like, the photoshoots afterwards? I never let anybody ruin my outfits! They're like, WAY too pretty for that!" Once again, Sunny's vapid priorities showed through. She might of been sweet, but she was as vain as they came too, which was as ever blatantly obvious.<p> "Although I do have, like, over a hundred different costumes. I mean, like some are just in different shades of pink, y'know, for like, different lighting and stuff. And some are just my capes soaked in different perfumes for whatever scent I'm wearing that day, so that I smell super good when I fly past!" She explained cheerfully. Her shallowness would shock some people, but once you'd spent some time in a room with Sunny, it really wasn't that surprising.<p> Sunny gave the assembled dancers a smile and a wave, and seemed to consider for a moment whether to stop for selfies or not, but at least did have the common sense to move on and take up a place in the class. To her, all of this was an exciting novelty.<br> "Uh yeah, like, I would NOT make a good boy." She joked back when Alice volunteered to be the 'guy'. It was the only obvious choice given what Sunny was like really...<p> Alice Morrow "We should be, like, BFFs!" ulla

"Like I am gonna buy everything!" SQUEEEE, SHOPPING!!!! "Cuma-huh? How'd you, like, spell that?" Sunny asked without thinking when he first whispered to her. But suddenly, something happened that she couldn't explain. There was a burst of light, and suddenly Sunny was aware of something happening. This man was pulling some kind of trick on her. She could see the flash of cruelty in his eyes, a flash of cruelty that suddenly made her scar on her stomach hurt as it reminded her of the look in the eyes of the woman who had nearly killed her. Here she was again, trusting somebody, here they were again, showing their cruelty. Their evil.
Perhaps it should of broken her. Sunny sure had tried acting like it had, with her black outfit, her (rather pathetic) attempts at being dark and edgy, and so on, but she realised, despite pretending, here she was again, being trusting, being friendly, and being betrayed. She realised it didn't matter what she pretended to be, who she tried to be, Sunny, at her heart, she was, well, sunny. She liked people. She liked being friendly. She could never be dark and edgy. She could never NOT trust somebody.
But right now, that didn't matter, because right now, whoever this was, was doing something. He was flying. And flying with what looked suspiciously like Sunny's own powers. Had he cloned her powers somehow? Was that what that flash of light was? Well, all the POPULAR heroes in TV and film had an evil duplicate, right, with the same powers as them they had to beat? Well, if that was the case, this could go down as one of her greatest victories! It was time for a big Gravity Girl showdown! Her big comeback heroic act after being injured!
"I'll, like, totally show you what that power can do!" She quipped back. She'd, uh, ask them to take out the 'like' and 'totally' if anybody filmed this, and played it back on the news, or worse, on Instagram! She prepared to engage him, and...
...jolted slightly? What the...? Where were her powers? The flying? The battling? What was going on!? She tried again, but when she reached out to feel her gravity field, nothing was there, and she just sort of ended up standing awkwardly on the ground.
"W-what have you done to me!?" She asked, suddenly terrified, realising with creeping horror that her powers had GONE.

"This is gonna be great for my profile!" Two Heroes Unite! Sunny pretended not to notice that Paladin hadn't replied to her invite to come and visit her manor. Maybe she hadn't realised Sunny was serious, or maybe she just didn't want to. Sunny, despite being cheerful, upbeat, oh, and incredibly wealthy, always found it hard to make proper friends. It was even worse since she'd become a hero. It was like something about her was just at odds with the people around her. She supposed she shouldn't of been surprised at Paladin ignoring the offer. She was nothing like Sunny at all. What was she meant to do? Invite Paladin to a private spa day? Somehow she doubted the other hero would like that. She seemed the type who listened to rock music and.... did whatever people who listened to rock music did. Go to the gym apparently. Ew. Still, it'd of been nice to make a proper friend. Sunny looked at the list of activities curiously. Unlike Paladin, Sunny had never been in a community centre in her life. She didn't even really understand them, so she found the idea of looking at a list of activities and getting to pick what you wanted to do incredibly quaint and cute (after all, if Sunny wanted to do something, she paid for it and organised it in advance, nobody had to offer her a list). She looked down all the events considering. Sure, this place might of been a bit run down, but she'd be lying if she said she wasn't having fun with this. It was like a gimmick to her. "Well, um, like, I'm TOTALLY bad at sports and can't throw to save my life, so uh, like, nope to the basketball, and I totally don't wanna get any paint or anything on my costume, so probably not the crafts. Dancing sounds fun though!" She suggested, considering the options, of course predictably dismissing the ones at odds with her girly girl nature. Sure, anybody observing might ask how Sunny intended to dance in her ridiculous stiletto boots, but Sunny was pretty much at home in any kind of heels. Plus, well, if she lost her balance, she could always fly. She'd never actually done Salsa dancing in particular before, but it sounded fun, and so she was definitely interested in trying it. She wasn't sure, however, that Paladin would share her opinion... Alice Morrow "We should be, like, BFFs!" ulla
