I know my writing is far from being the best. I am not good with spelling or grammer and I tend to loose myself in vague statements.
Please tell me how I can better my writing to become a better writer.

Hey there!

I am not sure how avid of a reader you are but I found reading to be immensely useful in expanding my vocabulary and showing me how to turn a phrase. Even if it just magazines and online articles.

Also, I am not sure if you already do this or not but if spelling and grammar is a concern you could type your post in word first so that you can use the spelling/grammar feature. In addition there is also a web extension called grammarly that will edit your documents much in the same way that word does and may be more useful because it will actually give you fragment suggestions.

I think that including a writing sample here might be allow others to get a better idea on what can specifically be improved upon.

So, first things first, I do believe reading can quite help you, yes! Maybe even read other people's replies— that's how I did it! I enjoyed threading with your character and you have a solid basis. There's room for improvement and I am sure you can make it, it only takes time!

To me, it was even harder because I am Italian, so I am not even native, but I believe I can give you some tips!

You should definitely look out for other people's replies (whether they're the ones you're threading with or other people) because I am sure you could find some terms and look up what it means and then try to use similar terms in your posts. You don't have to use difficult terms. The best posts are the ones that can describe a situation but also go straight to the point— basically those with a fine sense of communication.

There is like, one thing I usually do, is trying to delve into my character and try to imagine: What is he thinking? How is he feeling physically/mentally? From there, if you ponder about it, you can surely write a lot more in regards to the circumstances of the thread and all of that. People have emotions and tend to react to things they hear/do— take that as an example and imagine how your character would react to an action from another player and see how far you can get when you write it out.

Grammarly is actually useful! I use it too— because I will be real: I am too lazy to re-read my post for mistakes. But still, it can definitely be a life-saver.

Oh, something else I recommend is to look up THESAURUS. It's basically a dictionary where you can find a bunch of synonyms for a word, which can definitely enrich a post.

The best thing I can suggest is not to worry too much about it, to be honest! Like, sure, quality is important. But what really matters is that you have fun! You can't force progress, but you can definitely guide yourself on a better path— trust me. Progress will come along as you keep writing and have fun.
