Sky was fearful when Brian showed his muscles growing, she took more then a step backwards till she was up against the wall of her room. What had she done? She was only tying to help. Sky not knowing how to control her telepathic side of her power was proving to be a hardship, one she rather avoid like she had done before. Sky's caring nature though would over take any fear she had and she watched as Brian fell into a ball on the floor, she went up to him, careful not to touch him again. "It's ok" Sky said and then he had barked back at her making her retreat back to the wall quickly. Shortly after he seemed to be able to get himself together and he told her he was sorry and that he was paranoid and he also asked her not to touch him again. That was something she already knew. Sky went back to his side sitting on the floor next to him. "It's ok, I am the one that's sorry, I thought I might be able to help you, I just did not expect so many voices." Sky drew in a breath and continued "I thought it might be easier for you to talk with your mind to me. I'm sorry and I hope you can forgive me. I promise not to try that again." Sky said softly in a reassuring voice to Brian. Hoping Brian would see past her mistake and maybe they could be friends? "We maybe could help each other, not touching of course but just talking, if that is ok with you? Sky said as she felt suddenly tired and exhausted. "I need to really sleep, but your welcome to stay, you take the bed I'll go sleep on the floor, just so you do not have to spend your first night alone, ok?" Sky suggested to him.

She wanted to help him.
”It’s because you’re so goddamn pathetic.”
He was. He was a six foot four grown man sitting curled up in a ball, face stained with tears, yelling at the voices in his head. He’s always been pathetic and he’s never going to stop being pathetic.
”A waste of space.”
Maybe. Maybe he should stop taking up oxygen. Maybe, once and for all, he should finally finish the job. Because no one wanted to be his friend, no one wanted to be in a relationship with him, no one would ever benefit positively from him. His little stint as a vigilante was a waste of time. All he did was give lady’s back their purses, stop people from robbing a gas station, material things, all the while he was robbing banks to drown himself in alcohol. He was pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. But…
”But what?” She asked excitedly.
But she saw him as, if he wasn’t mistaken, a friend. She said they could help each other. A mutually beneficial relationship. Friendship. Maybe. He looked out the window again, just now coming to the fitting realization that he was looking out at the sky, and saw the asterism, ten from Scorpius, six from Ara, one from Norma, and one from Telescopium.
”Bit on the nose, don’t you think.”
Two people side by side, friends, friendship. He was pathetic, yes, but maybe he wasn’t such a waste of space.
Her final words brought a somber smile to his face. ”This is far from my first night. Besides, I wouldn’t want to get caught by the tecs.” He stood up and made his way words the door. Opening it, he paused by the doorway and turned towards her. ”I don’t...I mean, I’m not a doctor or anything, but I don’t think you’re crazy.” He said. ”I’m crazy. I have...stupid brain chemicals. But yours. They don’t seem stupid. They seem...exceptional.” He smiled at her. ”Goodnight.” He said as he closed the door behind him and walked back to his room, perhaps once in a long time able to go to sleep.

Sky had waited to see if Brian had wanted to stay the night with her. Goodness knows she could use the company, she was still fearful of what her ability could do, how she did things without thinking or control, like that drawing still staring at her from the wall. Then she had tried to help Brian but unknowing to her, he had multiple voices within his own head. What if she could control her telepathy, even the slightest? Would she be able to help him then? Sky didn't know the answer to that and she was left feeling helpless even with her strong willingness to help him. Brian would tell her that it wasn't his first night here and did not want to get in trouble with the techs on the floor. He would try to explain to Sky that she wasn't crazy and that he was the one that was crazy, something about brain chemicals. He said goodnight as he left, closing the door behind him. Sky was now alone again, just her and that drawing. She went up to the window and looked at the stars and how much light they shone in the darkness. Sky wished she could be as bright as that to pierce through any darkness. Sky's nature was to help others and at times like tonight it cost her. Thankfully it seemed that Brian at least half way understood she only meant to help with trying her ability on him, maybe if she didn't pull away things would have been better between the two. Sky went to the bathroom and washed her hands, she filled her glass with water and went to the night stand where she put the glass down carefully. She hopped into bed without even looking once at the drawing right above her head. She would have to talk to the kind doctor about what happened tonight. Sky also hopped that she could get some paint to cover the drawing, if not she would take the sheet off her bed in the morning and find a way to cover it. Even with the visions making it hard to fall asleep, her body found a way to go to sleep, soon Sky was deeply asleep for the first time in her short stay. -END OF THREAD-
