Sky wouldn't really hear what the doctor was telling her, she was beyond tired. Once he left and the lights were turned off, Sky fell immediately in to a deep sleep. Several moments went by and her eyes darted wildly, her body was tense and she kept whispering words out loud. When the nurse made her nightly rounds she would find Sky talking in her sleep, she was thoughtful and left some paper and a pen for her if she woke and wanted to write her dream down. Many of the others had journals and a few even kept dream journals. However, when the nurse went to the bathroom to clean it. A still sleeping Sky reached for the pen and stood on her bed and began to write and draw on the wall of her room. When the nurse went to get supplies she saw Sky writing on the wall, her eyes closed but still darting around under the closed lids. She had already drew alot in the small space of time that the nurse was in the bathroom and what she saw alarmed her so much, she called the doctor to come to her room. If anyone saw her wall it was now full in arms reach of fine detail of a building, a face and a name, times, and things that seemed like nonsense but that were still important, maybe a interlaced with another vision? There was also a mans face and part of a name. Once Skys unconscious was done, the pen fell to the floor and she dropped to the bed, still sleeping. Nathan Havelock

Paving the Way to Understanding and Control That morning, Nate was pulled to one side and informed that his “fortune-teller” had been active during the night in her sleep. Dr. Joyce Williams had already been very interested in the case and had been personally overseeing phone calls made to the building and the subsequent investigations. So far nothing had been identified, but Nate was sure further progress would be made this morning.
They had had photos, but it was all still there for Nate to see with his own eyes. He glanced briefly through – he was sure the team Dr. Williams had on the case would be combing through it carefully themselves – but decided it was best to wait and see it for himself.
Sure enough, Nate entered the room to be greeted by a series of fine scribbles above Sky’s bed. There was a building, again drawn in precise detail rather than in any artful way, and other written details that could all connect to the vision she had been experiencing so vividly the day before.
Nate came in slowly, smiling gently at her. “Good morning, sleepyhead – looks like you’ve been busy! How are you feeling?”
He remembered the first time he had met her yesterday – how the notes had pointed towards her being non-verbal and uncooperative – and thought with relief how much she had opened up to him so far. Hopefully she would make even more progress once they could connect the dots of her night-time scrawlings – she was so desperate to understand and control her power, and so desperate for the people in that building to be saved. For them to fail would be a huge blow.
No pressure.

There seem to be only one place Sky unknowing went to where no vision could reach and that was deep sleep. The first night at the institute was exhausting both physically and mentally for her. Unknowing to her, people had come in and left, some milled about, talked out, photographed and documented the drawing she did while sleeping last night.
The kind doctor was one that had a good look at her drawings before softly calling out to her. "Sleepyhead" is all that she heard as the light peered thru the sheets. She turned pushing the sheets down as she faced the doctor. Sky wondered what time it was yet her body still was drained and stiff. "Did you sleep here?" she said softly facing the doctor as she tried kicking the remaining sheets off her body. Her hair was sticking to her face and she ran her hand thru it to get the hair off her face and out of her eyes. She slowly sat up, her feet dangling off the side of the bed, her arms to her side and her hands gripping the side of the bed as she was a bit dizzy with the sudden movement.
Sky would notice the doctor looking at something on the wall and when she turned to view it, her mouth fell open and a rather loud 'OMG' slipped from her lips spying the drawing on the wall about the headboard. She stood, going to the wall and touching it. Turning to the doctor "Who? Who did this?" She questioned him.
"Where did this come from?" She would add after a short time of silence. There was of course a sinking feeling that Sky knew who drew that on her wall and what it was that was drawn, even though she wished she didn't know.

Paving the Way to Understanding and Control It was amazing to see that Sky had still been asleep, even after all the hustle and bustle of people coming in and out of the room. She must be a heavy sleeper and evidently she had been exhausted after all her efforts the day before. Her first question surprised him.
“Did I sleep here? No, no, why do you ask that?” There was a gentle chuckle in his tone.
He watched as she hauled herself up, the sleepiness gradually fading from her face as she gripped the side of the bed. She followed his eyes to the wall and stared in shock at it, then turned to him. He frowned at her next questions; there was definitely a lot of denial still lingering in Sky’s head. As if the words and drawings could have come from anyone else.
“You did this,” he said simply, gesturing towards it. “In your sleep. Looks like your mind was still going over that vision.”
He joined her in examining the wall, his eyes flickering across the scene as he picked up the little details of it all.
“You’ll be happy to hear that a team is working to secure the building – they’re especially interesting in finding this guy,” Nate pointed to the face. “Seems like maybe the explosion might not be an accident.”
He stepped back. “What do you think? See anything interesting there?”
He asked in case there was something of significance that she'd noted in her vision that might now connect up with what she had produced in her sleep. Sky was sure to have the best perspective thanks to her ability to witness the event before it actually happened - she just needed to think.

The doctor chuckled at Sky's question about him sleeping there "Why do you ask that?" Sky shrugged. She really had no sense of time just yet. "Sorry, I don't know." she said in a rather still sleepy voice as her attention went to the wall about the bed.
She had asked who did that drawing and the doctor replied that she had done it, in her sleep and that her mind was still going over the vision. Great, she thought now things were happening in her sleep? What was next? sleepwalking? Night Terrors? It sent a shiver though her, no please no!
The kind doctor went on to tell her they had a team working on securing the building. The doctor was pointing to a face on the wall "They are interested in finding this guy" the doctor told her. She stared at the face for some time trying to make some connection as the doctor told her that the explosion may be no accident. Sky saw him take a step back asking her what she thought and if she saw anything interesting. Sky sighed, shaking, she shrugged her thin shoulders as she eyed the wall carefully.
Sky was no closer to understanding or controlling what was happening to her. One thing she was happy about was that people were looking in the building and she could only hope and pray that those lives in that building could be saved. No life should end like she had seen, the hardest part of that vision that stuck like glue was the beheaded baby. Another thing Sky was happy about was that this doctor seemed to know what was wrong with her and was trying to help her.
She looked at the wall again, looked at the doctor and back to the wall. Trying to take control for the very first time she asked the doctor if they could try to search the vision like they did the day before. However, she had a couple of requests, one if she could breakfast, a shower and have some clean clothes before setting forth on the vision quest. Sky even forced a slight smile as she wiped her eyes of sleep gupe that stuck to them.

Paving the Way to Understanding and Control Sky shook her head when he asked if she could pull out anything interesting from the work before her, but then she surprised him. She turned back to the wall before asking if they could try and search through the vision again. Nate was delighted, especially by the smile that accompanied her request, and jumped up quickly to allow her some privacy as she showered and got dressed. He headed into the main ward and managed to grab a healthcare assistant who was busy distributing the last of the late breakfasts.
“Oh, the new lady, right?” he said cheerfully as Nate pointed out Sky’s room. “Dude she was so deeply asleep this morning that I didn’t want to disturb her, I’ve got it saved, don’t worry.”
“Thanks, she’s ready for it now.”
He then passed a little time checking in on some of the other in-patients, some of whom he would be returning to visit properly that afternoon. As he was on his way back to Sky’s room he spotted one of the other staff members tasked with investigating Sky’s vision. “We think we have an ID,” they murmured excitedly to him as they passed. Nate raised an eyebrow in curiosity but they didn’t elaborate – maybe it was more of an educated guess than a certain identification at this point in time.
Finally he reached Sky’s door, knocking on it swiftly before entering. Sky was still half-way through her breakfast, but at least she was clean and dressed now. She looked much more awake.
“How are you feeling this morning?” Nate asked with a smile, sitting himself down in the chair across the room. “Any concerns?”
While Sky finished her breakfast, Nate took the time to go back through his notes and fill in a few details, a couple of observations here and there. “Let me know when you’re ready to try that vision again,” he added, grinning enthusiastically. Hopefully Sky would find what she was looking for in it. Outside of the room, they seemed to making good progress, and it was filling Nate with hope that they could actually stop the disaster from ever happening.

Sky wasn't totally lucid when the doctor left. Going into the bathroom she closed the door behind her and placed the trash can in front of it just in case someone opened it, she could cover up before being seen naked. The shower wasn't like at home, this one did not have the pressure or nice spray but it would do, it would just take a little longer. Wetting her hair she put the provided shampoo in it and lathered it up, she let it sit in her hair as she took the soap and washed her skin with care. The she rinsed her hair and put conditioner in it and then rise, rise, rise. WIth a thick mane of hair like hers it took a long time to rise it. Once done she wrapped her hair in the towel almost like a turban and then took the other towel and dried her body off. Wrapping the towel around her thin frame she opened the bathroom door and saw clean scrubs for her to wear, grabbing them and retreating back into the bathroom to put them on. She brushed her teeth and looked for a dryer, there was none. sighing she rubbed the towel on her head and then threw the towel on the counter as she ran her hands thru her thick hair. It was still to wet to even try to run the brush through it.
Alone in the room she stared at the vision until there was a knock at the door, breakfast! Lifting the dome, she saw pancakes, sausage and a hard boiled egg that was already peeled and cut in half. There was also milk in one of those school sized cardboard boxes, an orange, with silverware and packets of salt and pepper as well as a plastic cup of water with ice and a few napkins. She took the tray from the nurse and thanked her as she turned and placed the tray carefully on her bed. Sitting on her bed so she could eat and study the vision. She pulled the notebook from the nightstand that the nurse had left and opened it, she held the pen up looking at the drawing with care. Taking bites of her breakfast wich wasn't to bad but missed her mothers cooking for sure.
Cocking her head suddenly she noticed another drawing within the one above the bed. She drew the image in the notebook and then heard a knock at the door, the door opened and it was the kind doctor who came in and sat down in the chair across from her. He asked how she was feeling and she told him she felt much better then she did yesterday. He asked her if she had any concerns and she shrugged her shoulders "A hairdryer would be nice, this mass of hair takes forever to air dry." she paused "I'm not on some kind of suicide watch or something of the sort here am I?" she asked him.
Sky would finish her meal but would save the orange for later, the milk was gone in a few gulps and the water was moved the nightstand, the tray she put on the floor near the door.
"I'm ready to try again" she told him getting into her now preferred position, indian sit style, bolt upright with her hands on her knees. Sky closed her eyes and let the visions flood her mind. It seemed like forever before she came to the vision, she walked around in it, the cop talking the female with the small dog in her arms, she got the cops name, next the food truck that wasn't selling food, strange no one was in it and it was missing a plate, Sky walking 'though' the truck and there was no food in it but it look like several barrels, wires and a countdown timer at 0003. Sky suddenly pulled out of the vision, fearful of what would happen it she continued. Turning the notebook to a clean page she wrote all she found, she told the doctor that the food truck was filled with explosives.
When she was done she looked drained and yet one could tell she was deeply concerned about what she saw.

Paving the Way to Understanding and Control Sky looked up at him between bites of the enormous breakfast spread before her (presumably one of everything that was on offer besides breakfast cereal to make up for her late start). He noted a notebook beside her with more drawing in it, extracted from the larger scene above her bed. It must have been something that particularly caught her attention while he’d been out. Maybe she was planning to revisit it in her vision.
It amused him that her primary concern has in fact a hairdryer but, then again, it must be quite inconvenient to have that mass of wet hair weighing you down. He thought of Alice’s morning routine – wet hair was much less of a concern for her short locks; instead the issue was rather with how faded her blue hair dye was getting or how much her roots had grown out. Nate left Ashley to deal with any hairstyle assistance, knowing where his strengths lay.
“A nurse or assistant may be able to hunt one down for you,” he said genially. “And Sky – you are in a psychiatric ward, so certain precautions are taken while you’re here. The plastic cutlery, for example, though I know it’s frustrating to use. But I will be completely honest and transparent with you and say that, no, you’re not currently on a suicide watch. You’ve been making great progress in your short stay with us,” Nate added, looking almost proud.
Once she’d finished with her meal, Nate watched her take the now rather familiar cross-legged position and, without need for prompts, went back into the vision once more. Nate could only wait as she explored it within her mind.
Sudden movement, then, as Sky reached for the notebook and began to write. She told him about the food truck and Nate sat up a little straighter. “You’re sure!? We need to alert them, asap. Does the truck belong to that guy, do you think?”
Nate leapt to his feet, ready to relay his findings to the team. They still had a little time before noon, but not too long now.

She was happy that they would try and locate a suitable hairdryer for her. yet. It was a bit unsettling to find out that she was on yet another psych ward, she thought this place was for people like her even though the doctor thought she was making progress.
She would have to revisit that with the kind doctor later, there was little time to waste when it came to people's lives that hung in the balance of her vision. A vision she did not know yet if it was really real or something still made up. She had to try, she cared about those people if they are real, they deserve to live.
She sat on the bed with her notebook nearby and settled into her position and into her mind full of visions, she had a rather hard time getting to the vision she was looking for this time around for some reason. She made note of the food truck and backed out of the vision because she didn't want to feel the impending blast again.
The doctor asked if she was sure about what she had seen. "This is new to me, I don't know, but if I am having this vision over and over, there must be something to it, right?" there was a look of unsureness in her face, what if this was just a dream? Yet, if it was real, she had to help.
She remembered the other thing she had seen within the wall display and showed it to the doctor, weather or not it meant something important remained to be seen.
Her sensitive side would surface again as fear rose inside of her as noon was quickly coming upon them. Even though she still had no concept of time yet, it seemed like a long time from when she got up this morning. "Please tell me how I can better deal with this ability or whatever it is, I honestly don't know how to even start controlling whatever you want to call what I am doing is. People lives hang in the balance and I feel so lost" Sky was close to tears again, those eyes so searching the kind doctors own eyes.

Paving the Way to Understanding and Control While Sky initially looked pleased that they’d be able to acquire a hairdryer for her, she looked considerably less impressed with the idea that she was on a psychiatric ward. Nate had assumed she’d already known that, having been transferred directly from a psychiatric hospital. Sure, the reason for her transfer had been the suspected metahuman abilities, but that didn’t mean they could just rule out underlying psychiatric issues so soon, if at all. The road to recovery was probably still quite long, although maybe less so now that Sky seemed to think she had no need for psychiatric care after all.
“If it’s been clear and consistent, I don’t see any reason why not,” he said as she began to question her own certainty. “So far the evidence seems to suggest that you’re capable of seeing the future – and that we’re able to halt certain events if we act against them. If you say the food truck’s important, it’s probably important.”
Sky showed him another detail – the drawing she had made before re-entering her vision. “Did you see this too?” Nate asked.
She seemed to be suddenly overcome with a wash of fear, the anxiety tearing her away from the matter at hand once more. Nate was still on his feet, ready to report on the food truck, but he took the time to answer her. “You’re doing great, Sky. Just think of how much control you’ve gained in 24 hours. Willingly searching your own visions! Preventing them from happening! Trust me, you’ll get there.”
He smiled reassuringly. “Okay, I think we have some important information to deliver. You wanna come with me? I’m sure they’d be happy to hear about it straight from you.” He held open the door for her to follow him through.

Over the past year Sky often wondered why this happened to her. Yes, she knew about the "Event" yet, still had that question on her mind and even so much so since she saw visions all the time, and as such it was draining on her self esteem. Being transfered here yesterday Skys mood would clearly bounce around from crying one moment to being hopeful the next.
Today while she was clearly more lucid and not so much moody, she was still somewhat drained from yesterdays happenings. Sky wasn't one to back down once she started something so even though the visions were bothersome and doing the vision walks were down right exhausting, their was lives that were in the balance and she maybe the only one between life and death for them. Telling the kind doctor about what she saw from the mural on her wall she did not think it was related to the current situation, maybe from some other vision that got stitched into it? She did not know.
The doctor had told her that she has made great progress in such little time with her control on the visions and that she would get there. Sky of course just wanted to yell that she needed that control now, but instead was silent as the doctor told her they had information to relay and he felt that they may want to hear if from her, herself as he held the door open for her to follow.
Sky froze for a few moments unsure if she wanted to go out and see others at this point. Yet, with a gentle sigh, she picked up her notebook and pen a slowly followed the doctor. She could feel the cold floor through her socks and lacking a sweater, she started to shiver. Sky's mind was though lost in a flood of thoughts and visions. There was times she was so lost that a simple task of walking down a hall was hard for her. The bright lights down the hallways didn't help matters. She followed the kind doctor slowly and with out complaint.

Paving the Way to Understanding and Control It seemed like Sky had taken his suggestion to come with him as more of a command than a polite offer. Either that, or she was actively making an effort to get herself out of the small room for her own benefit. It would certainly be nice for her to stretch her legs and see a few new faces and feel more involved in the process that she had kickstarted with her vision.
He frowned as he noticed her shiver – was she anxious or sensitive to the slight temperature drop? The MNRU was hardly strapped for cash; it could afford good central heating. Maybe it was just nerves from stepping out into a facility she had only briefly seen the inside of on her way into the psychiatric ward.
Nate slightly ahead of her and to one side, doing his best to keep the occasional person that rushed past from getting too close to Sky. He could still remember how the notes on Sky Rentschler went to great lengths to hammer home her touch aversion. It had been so extreme that she didn’t even want her own mother near her. As such, he was doing his best to keep people at a distance from her – wary that any set-back would be devastating at this point.
“I met with everyone in here this morning,” Nate explained as he reached the door. “They’ve sent some people out to the scene too, so they’ll be able to act fast.” He looked back at her before just before they entered the room. “You doing alright?”
He waited for her to respond and then they entered the room.
Immediately everyone in there looked up, their eyes a little wide at seeing Sky present. “Yes?” the older woman at the computer looked up at them over her glasses. “Is this the precog?” The man beside her began typing something at his laptop. “Can we help you?”
Nate gestured to Sky. “She’s seen more. Here Sky, tell them what you saw.”

Getting out of her room was good for her dispite the growing pit in her stomach. Sky followed the doctor, he seemed to being keeping people away from her? Once just outside the room the doctor told her that he met with everyone in the morning as he opened the door to the room. He told her they sent people out so they could act fast, he looked at her and asked if she was ok.
Was she ok? Her knees felt like jello and she didn't know if she could do this but gave the doctor a slight nod as she walked into the room and froze at the sight of the number of people there. The number of eyes that suddenly turned to look at her. Sky looked like a deer stuck in headlights. She looked back at the door and wished she could leave, now.
Sky heard someone refer her to as a precog and someone asked if they could help her. The doctor turned to her and gestured to the room as he told them that she had seen more and then asked her to tell them about them.
Now what? She suddenly felt sick and weak as everyone had there eyes on her. She could not speak and just looked at the doctor as she handed her notebook to him. She turned on her heels and went just outside the door. Leaning up against the wall she held her hand over her mouth to prevent herself from throwing up on the floor.
Sky felt bad about leaving the room but, all those people looking at her! She wanted to go back to her room however she didn't quite know the way back. She had been to lost in thought she did not see were she was going with the doctor.
Looking back at the door she wondered if she should go back in, or could go back in. That nawing fear clung to her being like super glue. She slid her back down the wall until she was sitting on the cold floor. She put her head into her hands and knees up, soft sobbing coming from her.

Paving the Way to Understanding and Control The nod had been small, not entirely enthusiastic, but definitely present. Nate had rather hoped that she could just ride the bravery train to victory, but evidently Sky was just overwhelmed by the situation and before he could even begin to fill in the details on her behalf she’d shoved the notebook at him and escaped out the door. Nate followed quickly, making sure she hadn’t run off, and watched as she slowly slid down the wall, head in her hands. And somehow managing to summon even more tears.
Nate approached slowly, sitting himself down on the floor across from her, back against the opposite wall. He waited quietly for her to begin to show signs of calming.
“I can have somebody take you back to your room. I’ll tell you how everything works out in the end – I’m sure we’ll be able to find that food truck. You don’t have to worry about it.”
He looked down at the notebook – it had everything the team would need so there wouldn’t be an issue in leaving Sky out of the process. He had just dared to hope that she could feel some sense of control over her power but apparently she still seemed to see the whole situation as very much her being a victim of her own power, which was a shame. With some of his previous patients, that first push towards control had been enough to trigger their own determination to master it. Sky obviously needed much more of a helping hand.
“I just thought it might help you feel like you were using your power, you know? Maybe make you feel more in command of it. But if you’re not ready, just say the word and I’ll have somebody take you back.”
He shrugged.
“Or we can try again. Up to you. There’s no right answer.”

Sky didn't expect the kind doctor to follow her into the hall but he did. Sharing the space opposite of herself, his words as always soft and reassuring to her. She didn't miss the disappointment in his voice though.
Sky remember how once they went to the beach, there was a pier there and how even though it was frowned upon the kids enjoyed jumping from the tall peak. Shy was with a friend and she looked at the water below, the waves crashing on the bull heads that were covered in razor sharp clams. "Come on, your a good swimmer." her friend would egg her on but she was frozen with fear to jump. Her friend slowly went up behind her and pushed her over the edge. Even though she wasn't ready and did not hit the water with grace and after being very mad at her friend she was glad that her friend had pushed her. It was amazing when she took the leap herself with her friend right next to her.
Maybe this 'thing' of hers is something like that? Sky just needs to take that jump, she knew the kind doctor would be right there, he wouldn't leave her, would he?
The doctor went on to say that he thought it might help her feel more in command of her power to use it, however if she was not ready, just tell him and he would have someone take her back to her room. He shrugged and said that they could always try again, it was up to her and that there was no right answer.
Taking her sleeve she blotted her eyes free of tears and repositioned herself on the cold floor so she could see the doctor. One could tell that she was searching deep down on what to do next. Yet, that memory of the pier jump would push herself to try again. She asked if she could go back in to the room again, to try to help. Isn't that what all this was about? To help those people?
