Nobody Don't you know who I think I am? | Ito Future Technology Company was under new management. That much was clear. Even if the disappearance of their previous CEO wasn't public knowledge, just the way their operating practices had changed would have made it obvious. At least to Jack, who had a rather loose view of morality and a rather inquisitive nature when it came to corporate espionage.
It needn't have been particularly interesting. Jack had done dealings with Ito in the past, but the company's technology was truthfully just not that interesting. What had piqued their interest had been the stories that had emerged regarding the disappearance of Kenji Ito. Rumours perhaps, but there was always a grain of truth in them, and Jack was very, very good at sieving information.
That made Ka more interesting. He was clearly dangerous, but there were enough rumours and suggestions floating around to make it all but certain that he was a metahuman. He seemed to have some sort of following as well, though Jack had found equally disappointing amounts of information on them. Given enough time they would turn up more, no one could behave in the way Ka had and remain hidden from the ever-prying eyes of the modern world. Not for long anyway.
There were faster ways of turning up information however, which was why Jack found themselves at the front desk in the office building the Ito Future Technology Company occupied. The woman behind the desk looked up in surprise. She obviously hadn't been expecting what looked very much like a teenager in an oversized t-shirt and fraying jeans.
"Ummm… Can I help you?"
Jack rolled their eyes. There was faint eye shadow about them, altogether more makeup than they normally wore. It angled their androgynous appearance markedly more towards the feminine. "I doubt it." They sounded bored, entirely in keeping with their normal state of existence.
"Then you'll need to-" Jack interrupted the young woman before she could finish speaking. "I have an appointment with Mr Young."
"I don't think.." Jack interrupted again. "Just check your computer."
They did have an appointment, though it hadn't been made through any of the proper channels. The personal calendars of CEOs could be so depressingly easy to hack. It had been the work of a moment to insert a meeting into the man's schedule.
"Ummmm… please take a seat Mr… Nobody…"
He smiled politely at the perplexed woman, before turning and waltzing over to the sofas provided for just such a purpose. "Don't mind if I do."
