She was stuck looking over her shoulder at the bit of the tattoo she could see herself until she became awkwardly aware of the number of eyes that were studying her so closely. With a slow and bashful shrug of her shoulder, she turned back around and situated her tank top straightly onto her frame again. Persephone had an odd point... The car crash had definitely done more good than bad for their health as much as Claire hated to admit it to herself. A magic cure to diabetes didn't suck.
"So that means you can do what Alice does on like, a smaller scale? Or is it different?"
"Oh, well no, not quite..." she started, but Alice had begun explaining it far better. She nodded at the girl's explanation and then looked back to Persephone with partially-scrunched lips. "I'm not strong or anything. My skin's just kinda... hardcore. No turning it off I don't think. Makes two of us," she cast a glance in Mason's direction with an apologetic smirk and then chuckled quietly at his mention of the pan. A hand lifted instinctively to hide her smile.
"Yeah, no burns here. But when I get some I'll know who to come to I guess, huh," she pointed out to Persephone, sliding her slender fingers flatly into the back pockets of her jeans. Oh, speak of the devil. Seemed she had a plan to show off some of her own stuff on Alice's raw palms. Claire's expression became attentive and piqued, following the two at a slower pace and obviously trying to get in on what was about to occur. "Can uh," she cleared her throat, trying to seem as casual as she could, "Can I watch?"

Recruitment Drive It was a little bit like surrendering herself. Persephone felt very focused and, simultaneously, very separate from what she was doing. Once she’d made the decision to create the salve for Alice, the feeling had taken her over like a trance. She could snap out of it at any point if she wanted, but it was also commanding so much of her attention that it felt far more natural to just follow her power’s lead.
“That’s cool,” she said, somewhat distractedly, as Claire’s power was explained. It was pretty cool – it had a similar appeal to Alice’s. She wondered if she could take the same level of impact that Alice did. In any case, it just added to the list of justifications for forming a superhero team. Persephone wasn’t exactly motivated by the more noble aspects of the cause so it helped to imagine that they might actually succeed with it.
She went through her shopping bag, guided by instinct, and began crushing and tearing as best she could before moving over to the sink.
“I’m going to make some kind of salve,” she informed Alice as she worked. “And sure you can watch, Claire, but uh-” Persephone took a moment to really look at what she was doing “-it’s not going to make a whole lot of sense.”
It was just a small amount, enough to fit in the palm of her hand more than comfortably, but it seemed to respond well to the water and soon resembled some kind of unappetising health-freak dip. She turned to face Alice.
“Here.”
She rubbed the mixture over the reddened palms. “Just leave that for about ten seconds, then you can like… shake it off or whatever. Should be good as new, maybe better.”
Persephone couldn’t help adding that. She was quite proud of her ability, and supremely confident in its mystic effects. It was an odd confidence considering the length of time she’d had her ability, but she respected its power so much that she was happy to blindly follow the instincts that came with it. So far, at least, that was working out just fine…

Paladin Am I more than you bargained for yet? | Alice nodded in agreement with Claire, what she did was so different to her power. Still, she'd already said her part, and it was very much Claire's power. If anyone understood it then it should be her.
She watched curiously as Persephone started to rummage through the things in her shopping bag, tearing off leaves and crushing stems then mixing them all together with water into what looked like some sort of disgusting green cupped in her hands. Admittedly, smoothie was probably being generous, it looked more like sludge. Alice was pretty sure she'd cleaned something like that out of the u-bend in the sink.
Disgusting though it looked, Alice had faith that Persephone wasn't just trying to trick her into dipping her hands into something disgusting, not when she'd done it first. She held out her hand, starting slightly at how cool the mixture felt when it touched her skin. She could feel a faint tingling on her palms and the tips of her fingers, the points that had been most affected by her little accident.
After waiting about ten seconds she crossed to the sink herself, twisting the faucet around once more the wash the goop from her hands. Her palms looked better, the redness was gone. She watched carefully, but it failed to return. They felt better, the gentle stinging having eased only a moment after the salve was applied to the affected area. She rubbed her fingers gently against her palms, marvelling at how soft they suddenly felt.
She turned to the others with her hands open, showing them the work that Persephone had done.
"It's all gone, they feel so much better!"
She looked around at the group of people gathered around, hoping that doing so had taken Mason in as well.
"Guys, we could really do this!"
