Dominic listened quietly, nodding occasionally as Lukas told his story. It sounded traumatic, he really couldn't imagine what that had been like. After all, the most damage that had resulted from his own discovery of his ability had been a few scorch marks on the wall and a toasted computer. He hadn't been injured, and neither had the rest of the survivors. Only Mason had disappointment in his ability Dominic recalled. He looked back up again, realising he had become a little lost in his own thoughts. "Do I want you to? No, I don't enjoy the struggles of others. But nobody said this was going to be easy." He frowned, "Some people can use their abilities as naturally as picking something up, others have to visualise specific things to do so. Those could be pleasant scenes, or they could be the stressful and traumatic ones, like the one you went through. It's different for everyone." He shifted his arm a little, "This isn't as traumatic as that first time for you, but that doesn't mean that those memories can't play a part in you learning to control your ability. There must have been something going through your mind at that moment that we can use to trigger your ability once again. " Dominic shrugged shrugged, "The least we can do is try…"

Lukas was a cop, cops like control, lukas and his ability(if you can call it that)had no control. For a cop to feel out of control and admit it to someone, was rare. Yet, here we are finding that Lukas has done just that. Traveled across country to find out and see if someone could help him.

Now he is with Dominic with Dominic's hand in his, Lukas tried once and nothing happened. He looked to Dominic to help him and Dominic was. He had just told Lukas that some abilities came easy to some while others struggled. Lukas was clearly in the later group.

Dominic said to try to think about what he was thinking when the power surfaced. This wasn't traumatic like that call but he could use those emotions here. Lukas took a deep breath, those emotions and feelings he felt that day, he enraged at the father, he was fearful when the shots were fired, when he was loosing that teen, dispair. If that's he has to remember each time to use this thorn, he would burnout quickly, then what would he do?

However, he had to try, he had to learn, this was his life now and if couldn't learn to do this, he just might end up doing something he would regret. Lukas took another breath and held it as he pictured that night. As he pictured that night, beads of sweat could be seen appearing on his brow. He open his eyes and looked at the wound and concentrated. Still holding his breath, he pictured that teen shot, his feelings about her coding. Lukas started to breathe again and as he did, he took on Dominic's injury. It worked!

Lukas let go and studied his arm like a kid with a new toy. He looked at Dominic for instruction as to what to do next.

Dominic smiled as he watched the cut on his arm simply seal up, as if it had never been there. He'd never met anyone who could do that other than the Doctor, and he'd never seen her ability in action. Nonetheless, she'd saved him from crippling injury without a scratch, was this something similar? Perhaps, but he'd never seen her with a wound of her own save the one that killed her. Lukas seemed equally pleased with his success and was inspecting his arm as if it was a freshly unwrapped Christmas present. It was rewarding to see it, and Dominic could see why the doctors at the MNRU might have chosen to take up that profession. That and the teachers who had chosen to work at the Evergreen Metahuman Boarding Academy. When they were finished, and Lukas was looking at him expectantly once more, her shrugged. "Now I don't know if that's what you're going to have to do every time, I have no idea how your ability really works, and how you access it. Maybe you can learn how to access that trigger without reliving that moment, maybe not. I can't help you do that, you'll need to talk to the staff of the MNRU for that or do it on your own." He leaned back, rolling his sleeve back down once more. "It's on you now, the Program can help you if you join, but you'll need to apply, and be accepted first, and I have only a small input on that decision."

Lukas had done it, he transfered an injury from Dominic to himself without being in the middle of a call even though he had to remember the call and the stressful emotions that went with it. Dominic seemed well enough impressed with his achiment. Dominic expressed that Lukas could follow up with the MNRU and that was already in the works with another appointment scheduled.

Lukas sat back in the chair as Dominic suggested filling out the application for the hero program. What would being in the program be like for him? He couldn't imgine that they would have him out in the field unless it was like a mass something event, but even then - if he help some one, he would be the one down and people would have to help him? Either way, maybe there would some kind of benifit to help others here somehow, right? The pro's would outweigh the cons.

"Yes, I would like to fill out the application. You could at least gain another law enforcement officer to help with security, right?" Lukas was trying to put a positve side of this to the front. It would be something he could do without using his ablity if there was was some kind big event.

Filling out the application was the easy part of all this. Lukas smiled when he was done. It felt like for the first time this all started that something good would come out of the thorn that had plauged him for quite some time. Joining the hero program and hopfully getting help through the MNRU was setting into motion a new positive edge to his what Lukas though of his power as negitive.

"When do you think I could here the result of this application?" Lukas asked Dominic as Lukas had only three weeks off from his job on the east coast. If there was even a chance of him getting into the program he could look for work on this side of the states and look for a place to stay also other then the hotel he was staying at.

Dominic took the form Lukas had filled out, glancing over the details he had placed there for a moment, before putting it into his out tray. "It might take some time, it is only the beginning of the process, after all." It was a long process and filling out the application form would only be the beginning of it. There would be interviews, power analysis, a combat test, training. Then at the end of all of that, if he was suitable he would be taken for further training, and eventually placed in the position most suited to him. The whole process would take just short of a year. It was intentionally challenging. Those who did not have the determination to complete it, would not survive as a Hero. "Someone with your experience would definitely be a benefit for us it's true. Anyone from the forces, of any kind is a rare enough resource that we could well make use of." He turned back to Lukas, "Now then, there's a long process, and you'll be involved in other things to do with it, if you wish to continue, but I'm afraid I do have an awful lot of work I can't just ignore. Please, I wish you every luck with your application, maybe I'll see you in costume one day." He gestured to the door with a smile, gently, but not aggressively, ushering his guest out of the door so that he could continue his work.
