[PTab=APPEARANCE]
WHO YOU SEE
THE FACE I WEAR Hair: Dark brown Eyes: Blue Skin: Pale in winter, tanned in summer. Attire: Alistair is well-dressed in University-appropriate attire at almost all times. If he's not wearing a blazer he's wearing a vest with tie underneath. He takes great pride in his professional appearance and the most under-dressed he'll ever be is wearing a pair of jeans when working in the yard or shorts while taking a jog or sleeping. When he's out and about on a day off (rare), he'll usually sport a pair of nice khakis or trousers; jeans only if they're clean and classy enough. He looks incredibly well put-together for his age as if he's been teaching for well over a decade at some prestigious establishment but simply wants to be sharp and respectable for both his students and fellow professors. | GENERAL Alistair is a towering 6'5" and a thick 240lbs of solid frame and muscle. His chest and shoulders are visible through the suits or blazers he often wears, but a t-shirt and pair of shorts while he's out on a morning jog will reveal much more. Though visually intimidating, Alistair walks, moves, and speaks with an extreme air of gentleness and has a naturally very trusting demeanor. He'll often stand or sit away from crowds if around them. His posture basically shouts the stereotypical 'teacher' and he's never in a hurry to get anywhere; holding doors open for people and generally allowing people to go before him. |

[PTab=PERSONAL]
WHO I AM
PERSONALITY
LIKES:: Music, cooking, sci-fi movies, yard work, working out.
DISLIKES:: Loud/crowded places, spontaneous decisions/moments, lazy students, disrespectful men (towards women).
HABITS:: Hands in his pockets to keep calm or when lazy, clears his throat when confused or frustrated, OCD with self-cleanliness and scheduling, panic attacks/PTSD episodes, binge watching sci-fi movies or shows.
CHARACTERISTICS::
Able and Efficient - Alistair dedicates himself to the discontent of lazy work. He gives every effort to do everything he is responsible for to the best of his ability. From the smallest actions of pulling weeds or chopping vegetables for dinner, to the larger jobs of one-on-one string lessons or doing yard work for those needing in his neighborhood (mothers, elderly), Alistair gets things done.. and gets them done the right way.
Brilliant and Strict - In his work, Alistair was hired to be a professor straight out of his college graduation from a nearby university by recognition of his outstanding knowledge and talent of the theories and instrumental performances in music. He pushes his students to the best of their ability and judges them by par of their finest work. He knows what they can do.. they know what they can do.. and, as such, he is not an 'easy' professor. However, he is very well respected and liked - having a born zeal for instruction.
Cautious and Secretive - Alistair doesn't like much to try new things. He's not adventurous or overly excitable. He keeps to himself by living alone and only spending his outside time to go to and from the campus or shopping for necessities. He eats on his own by making his own food. Occasionally, he'll be a bit outgoing and go to the nearest Starbuck's and do his grading there while having a nice cup of coffee. Alistair feels uncomfortable talking about himself and never speaks at length about his upbringing.
Childish and Innocent - Though a grown man, Alistair has always seemed (with his ways) more childlike. He does not understand many inappropriate slang sayings or jokes. His mind hardly ever waivers from its initial priority and train of thought. Alistair has no double meanings in anything he says. His words are black and white with little to no subtext.
Considerate and Humble - Alistair has been raised with a habit to put others' needs above his own. He is an honest, loving, caring person at heart that sees no need to brag or focus selfishly on any topic regarding the traits and characteristics of himself. His words are careful to ensure that all things said are fair and as respectful as possible in given situations. He does not go intentionally out of his way to harm another individual.
Dependable and Gentle - Alistair is enormous. A six foot, six inch giant of thick bones and even thicker muscles - the perfect makings for some famous UFC champion. Too bad he's a teddy bear and couldn't hurt a fly. In contradiction to his extremely intimidating size, he is extremely gently-spoken and moves without any sense of aggression. His nature, in its gentleness, is as dependable and outstanding as the large masses of strength that sit around his shoulders.
Independent and Stubborn - Alistair prefers to do things for himself on his own. Working in groups for a greater cause is a different story. He strongly believes in supporting himself and his responsibility, because of his ableness to do so, to support others that lack the strength to do so. When he has made a decision, Alistair catches a high peak of 'manly' attitude and cannot hardly be swayed to difference.
Polite and Moral - Old-fashioned in a nutshell. He treats others, especially women, with high amounts of respect. Alistair is mannerly and speaks with very little cursing or aggressive words. He believes strictly in things labeled 'right and wrong' as the pillars of how he lives his life, regardless of how difficult following any rule might seem or be.
HISTORY
Alistair was brought into the foster care program at the young age of two from parents that couldn't afford to keep him. He was a quiet child and always stuck to himself and understood the importance of following rules versus the consequences of misbehaving. Needless to say with this, Alistair was an easy child to raise. He was calm and attentive, intelligent and obedient. Though he was passed through a handful of different homes he never acted out at home or in school.
When he was in eighth grade he lived in a home with two other foster children: Lily and Marcus whom were both a couple of years younger than he. As the years went on, he became very quickly protective of them. Alistair continued to grow in kindness and gentleness, but his size spoke differently. He was encouraged and sought-after in both junior high and high school to try out for sports teams by coaches but declined. Violence or competitiveness didn't suit him.. Instead, from showing high marks of understanding in it at a young age, Alistair took to music. He practiced the piano everyday and found a new love of the cello at fifteen from the high school orchestra instructor.
Hardly speaking up in class and always having solid grades made Alistair's record completely clean of any marks besides one; getting a detention for pinning a man against a wall that attempted to bully Marcus, his foster brother, into a locker while Lily begged him to stop. When asked why he did it, he answered because it was wrong.. and because he could stop it. His foster parents, very understanding of the situation, took the three of them out for dinner rather than punishing Ali for the detention.
When Alistair turned seventeen his foster father unveiled an old pick-up truck in the driveway. It was obviously cheap, not in great condition, but it didn't matter to Alistair. He informed Ali that it was his job to drive the three of them to school from now on and to help out around the house with errands when it was needed. Of course he agreed gratefully, but in truth his guardian was more than happy to have given the gift. It was well earned.
The sky was drizzling after school one day while he drove the three of them home around the bend of a highway road. Marcus sat in front changing the radio station and Lily was lounging in the back seat talking about some new crush. Alistair was happy to listen, just smiling quietly, and keeping his eyes on the road. But no naked eye can see a nail in the rain..
It happened in seconds.
The truck's front left tire popped and then shredded against the concrete. Alistair lost control of the awkward, front-heavy machine and the force sent them crashing through the guardrail at the side of the road and down a steep, muddy slope into the trees. His arm extended out to the side, holding Marcus' chest to keep him back, but when they hit the surface of the lake Alistair's weight broke through the lock holding his seat belt and sent him flying into the windshield. It didn't break through, but it made his world go black.
Seconds later, he woke up coughing and swallowing water, looking around frantically with a pounding head to see Marcus sitting limp in his seat and Lily trying weakly to pull her brother's seat belt free in panic - costing her more air. They were quickly losing light to work with the deeper they sunk. Alistair shoved her away and ripped the belt in two before kicking at the windshield once. Twice. Finally, it broke, but they had hit the lake's muddy floor.. When he turned to them, Lily had joined her brother in unconsciousness. He reached for them, his lungs spasming and burning, and he swam with their added weight in his arms - just kicking his legs - desperately to the surface.
An hour passed before the police and the rescue team found them.. By then, Alistair was curled forward on the ground sobbing with a thick line of red down his face and his two foster siblings in his arms. He rocked them and begged them.. but no amount of air he'd put into their lungs had brought them back. Marcus had swallowed too much and Lily hadn't been strong enough. He'd gotten out with just a concussion and broken collar bone.
He's never not blamed himself.
He graduated with high honors in instrumental music and applied for college right away with a full scholarship. Fresh out of his masters, he was hired by UCLA. He lives in a humble, quiet neighborhood, teaches music theory courses, gives piano/cello lessons, and spends each and every day doing his best to forget.. to move on. To live a life worth living - to teach the young adults of the growing community the joys of music. Over ten years later, he still suffers nightmares each and every night. He hides the loss of his weight and health from anxiety, panic, and PTSD underneath his muscular structure. There has never been a day he can remember that he doesn't see their faces in his sleep or hear them crying out to him.

[PTab=POWER]
MORE TO ME THAN MEETS THE EYE
ABILITY
Alistair is a shape shifter. His skeleton forms into the body of a blonde, Panthera Leo Atrox; the largest cat in existence. His skin thickens and grows fur as well as a full, clean mane around his neck beginning from the crown of his forehead. Shifting in and out of this form takes less than five seconds when he is in good health.
LIMITS
Alistair's lion form is 13ft long, 5ft tall on all fours, and weighs 900lbs. His eyesight is incredibly accurate at night (on average 6x more sensitive than a human's). The strength of his jaw is able to crumple metal thickness equivalent to the average steel truck body and his claws easily pierce them. Alistair's human strength is also slightly more increased but not to the extent of 'super strength'. His strength is the equivalent of two men his own size. While his sense of smell, sound, and sight are moderately enhanced in his human form, he gains no extra speed or reflexes.
WEAKNESSES
Alistair is still susceptible to fatal injury, illness, age, etc. The more he shifts, the more protein his body requires. In fact, though shifting into his form is fairly easy, shifting out of it leaves him incredibly exhausted and worn out. This makes him unable to continuously shift from two legs to four (though he can stay on four for long periods of time without effect). His strength when returning back to his human form is incredibly decreased; much like a heavily dehydrated person because of the lack of energy in his system. If required to function rather than sleep off his exhaustion, he'll need to be reliant on booster shots such as steroids and adrenaline or mixed proteins.
