[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]APPEARANCE
[attr="class","hopelovetop"][attr="class","hopelovesub"]HAIR // auburn [break]EYES // blue[break]SKIN // pale[break][break]ATTIRE[break][break]Alice tends to dress pretty conservatively. Most of the clothes she owned before the event were brightly colored shirts, sweaters, and jackets. She continues wearing those clothes not as a preferred fashion choice but merely out of convenience. She makes a point of trying not to stand out with her clothing choice, preferring to blend in amongst her “peers”[break][break]GENERAL[break][break]Alice used to put a lot of effort into her appearance, but following the event, she puts the minimum effort required to be unremarkable. She stands at a short 5’2, which previously annoyed her but has become irrelevant. Where she was once a very bright and happy individual, she often tends to look cold and detached. It’s rare to see a genuine smile appear on her face which can be off-putting to general passerby’s.
[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]PERSONALITY
[attr="class","hopelovetop"]Alice was once one of the friendliest girls you could meet. Very much a girl next door type who enjoyed being around others. Following the event, Alice has become someone else entirely. Cold, calculated and reserved, Alice has become completely phlegmatic. She is usually unphased, uncaring, and generally unamused by the day to day antics of normal human interaction. Her cold, analytical stare is generally the look average people are going to get. [break][break]Now if the situation calls for it, Alice can certainly “turn on” the charm. She can still play the part of a hometown girl who’s got a song in her heart. Of course, anyone who’s good at reading people will see through her veneer, but in the company of most, she can put on a good act. Like muscle memory, she can wrinkle her nose and give a cute little smile that makes her freckles move ever so slightly. There is no longer any joy behind that smile, but the warmth can certainly be simulated.
[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]HISTORY
[attr="class","hopelovetop"]Alice used to always dream of becoming a musician. From an early age, she was a virtuoso on the piano and spent most of her days practicing in her room. She grew up in Portland, Maine which was a relatively sleepy town for a young girl growing up. Still, she managed to enjoy the simple life with her two close friends by her side. Together they aspired to one day start a band and, ideally, become world-famous.[break][break]These dreams inspired the optimistic Alice and sparked her active imagination. While her close friends eventually grew past that dream, Alice held onto it leaving high school. She wanted to study music theory and the best programs in the country were all on the west coast. This proved problematic for Alice as she not only loved her home in Maine, but also because of her mother. Her mother had Huntington’s disease and needed constant care which she was helping her father with.[break][break] Not wanting to burden their daughter, they encouraged her to go the school she wanted, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and much to their collective relief she was accepted. Reluctantly, she packed up and headed out to California to follow her dream of becoming a musician. The program was everything she had hoped for and more. The competitive nature of it really galvanized her into constantly improving. Unfortunately, she had trouble connecting with others and making friends which caused her to feel rather lonely, but she persevered.[break][break]It didn’t help matters that she was going to school in San Francisco which was as far from Portland as one could get on the west coast. Instead of letting it get her down, though, she doubled her efforts and got through the program with high marks and recognition. Proud of her efforts, but tired of the hustle, bustle, and needless stress of city life, Alice wanted to slow down. She heard great things about a small town in Marin County and it sounded right up her alley.[break][break]At first, Alice planned to stay in the town for about a year while she got her bearings and found direction. As it turned out, she would fall in love with the community and around for much, much longer. She managed to get by booking small gigs at cafes, jazz halls, and little concerts, which was all she really needed at this point in her life. A drastic change in her life occurred when she received news from her father that her mother had finally succumbed to the disease. Alice wanted to return home as soon as she could, but her father implored her not to. He had wanted to spare her the pain, and let her live her own life, but Alice wouldn’t understand that until later.[break][break]On top of her mother’s death, she had become immensely concerned with the disease that took her life. The disease was genetic and there was a possibility that it would slowly take her like it did her mother. The thought of it nearly paralyzed Alice and affected her daily life significantly. It caused her to stop pursuing a guy she had developed a crush on and she cut down on the number of shows she was performing in for a while. It took a few years for Alice to get back to a place where she felt in control of her life once again.[break][break]By that point, Alice had been seriously contemplating returning to Maine. Her life in California had become a crutch for her and she had become increasingly homesick as the days went on. At some point in late spring of 2017, she finally decided it was time to pack up and go home. A few weeks later strange clouds started forming over San Francisco. The curious Alice decided to go down to witness the strange phenomenon. This day would be the last for the Alice Forsythe who dreamed of becoming a musician.[break][break]Overnight, Alice had had her mind opened to levels incomprehensible. Every thought she had became calculated and measured. At first, she was frightened and locked herself away from the world. It didn’t take very long for her new outlook to consume her, however. While she trapped in her own head, a thought occurred to her…[break][break]Humanity was inherently flawed. She saw death, illness, and the unforgiving hand of mother nature. She also saw war, greed, and discrimination. Alice believed humanity squandered the potential to ascend to something greater because of their inability to look past themselves. She also watched with intense attentiveness to the news reports of people flying and lifting objects with their minds.[break][break] It was then that Alice knew she had become a part of the next step in human evolution. Humanity’s time was coming to an end and there was no way they were going to go gently. She decided she had to prepare for herself and her new brothers and sisters. Alice has now dedicated herself to studying genetics and the potential alteration of them. Learning new subjects at an inhuman pace, she enrolled herself into a bioengineering program with an online component as a means to allow her eventual access to careers with labs and other useful resources. She has plans and will do everything and anything to put it in place.[break][break]
[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]POWER
[attr="class","hopelovetop"][attr="class","hopelovesub"]ABILITY[break][break]Alice has an extremely advanced intellect. She is capable of processing calculations and formulas at speeds comparable to supercomputers. Additionally, she has an eidetic memory with perfect recollection of events stored in her mind. Alice can use this ability to problem solve tasks quickly and efficiently. Any equation thrown at her, she can solve. Need the exact time, date, location, and persons involved of an event, she can describe it with flawless accuracy. She can even make logical predictions given enough information. She isn’t clairvoyant, but can certainly make fairly accurate predictions of predictable behavior.[break][break]This ability has effectively turned her into a human Summit supercomputer. With complete mastery over her brain, she has control over her pain receptors, reflexes, and every other internal process. With a thought she could slow her heart beat to an undetectable rate, increase the amount of adrenaline in her body for a boost of strength or even decrease blood flow to an area with an open wound.[break][break] LIMITS[break][break]Despite having complete control of her superhuman mind, her body is still effectively human. She will only ever be able to operate at speeds capable by her body. While she uses her bodies natural processes (i.e. adrenaline, norepinephrine, etc.)to her advantage, she would never be able to out run a cheetah or lift a car over her head example. Additionally, she is very limited when it comes to human behavior as she slowly becomes more and more detached. She can easily predict a logical outcome, but human nature is often anything but. Even if she could predict an illogical outcome, she couldn’t possibly fathom how or even why. [break][break]WEAKNESSES[break][break]A major problem for Alice, even if she no longer recognizes it, is that her intelligence has irrevocably altered her personality. The ability to process information at the level she does as dampened her ability to empathize or consider the smaller picture. To her, what is one person’s feelings to her overall goal? This makes it difficult for her to comprehend certain human emotions to an extent. This becomes limiting as she tries passing off as the girl she once was. Music, once her utmost passion, has become meaningless to her and she ever only seems to contact her father every so often for appearances. [break][break] Biologically speaking, she is still as vulnerable as anyone else. Being able to slow blood flow to an open wound, doesn’t negate the fact that there is an open wound. She can just as easily overexert herself using her body as a tool or blunt instrument, even if it is calculated. Nullifying pain receptors doesn’t mean she isn’t being hurt. She is ultimately still as vulnerable as the day she was born.[break][break]
