S he did hear that a lot- at least with those she's met. Most of them curious as to her background. What was her home country like, what was the difference with the US etc. Growing up, Alana was also fortunate to be overseas during the summer. I guess it was part of the perks of coming from a well-off family. "Travel is great. If anything it is actually more inspiring than anything. When I get to see other places I get to think of new things I'd like to paint. Maybe it can help you too. I mean, you are into music and culture, you will probably have a grand time."she smiled at him; but couldn't quite stop staring at him. He was quite attractive. She sighed. No. He's a friend.
"Maybe I can check out seat sales and we can try something? Or even something like Mexico? That's much nearer." Oh and she just invited him to a road trip. A part of her couldn't resist. But then again, maybe it would be nice to see the world with someone with a similar lens- one that could see the beauty of the world beyond its aesthetic and dive deep down into their culture.
She nodded. That was great advice from his end. "I guess I'll have to check that out- seems like a good choice." She couldn't help but smile again. But a part of her wanted to say that she was fluent in martial arts. Then again that could be proliferating a stereotype- but it was the truth. She'll save it for later, she thought.
"Care to share what they're playing tonight? I do have my own favorites. But what can I say, I'm biased like that" she laughed, she was also looking forward to hearing what he had planned. And on another note, him saying yes to her tour was something she did not expect, but something she appreciated. "Oh you don't need to know much. But I'll share with you some tidbits when the gallery is up. I hope you find it charming." she smiled at him again."Do you have plans later? I mean after all of this?"

[attr="class","ohlove"] [attr="class","lacking"] [attr="class","eyes"] ✎ tag: @alana ※ wearing: Here✉ notes: I'm back. I promise. And Ali is turtling xD. both were silent. the air in my lungs, my hands on the keys. The idea of travel always was a bit of a struggle for him. It sounded like such a journey, so incredible and impossible to put into words. The amount there was to learn, the cultures to experience, the places to see! But for some reason the thought of just leaving anywhere far from home made him anxious. It was out of routine. He wanted to go other places, wanted to see the world that wasn't on a TV screen, but had come to terms with the fact that it probably just wasn't in him.
Not only did the conversation continue to prod in the direction of travel, but also to another country and with a newly acquainted still semi-stranger. My. She was... forward. Her energy and the invitation made him mentally retreat and he cleared his throat, taking a minor step back and folding his arms lowly below his chest and atop his abdomen, "Ahem, oh, no that's fine really. That's a lot of trouble and... well, school comes first for me," he attempted to respectfully decline as kind as he was able, "I'd hold you back. You're quite the free spirit, sounds like," and he most certainly was not. The apologetic smile remained, albeit a bit tense and awkward from her barrage of overbearing goodwill, until he was finally in a position to answer a more professional question.
"Ah, plenty of Schumann tonight," a curt dip of his chin followed the statement, shifting his weight and straightening out his neck. "I'm a bit bias when it comes to the selections, I admit," only comedy a true classical passionate instructor would laugh at, his smile did it's best not to grow too much from the humor he found within the confession; small dimples showing past the corners of his lips bashfully. His students would just have to remain victim to playing a handful of his favorites a little while longer. "After this? Tonight? I've got a handful of midterms," Alistair nodded honestly, "I'm thankful it's the weekend." Though he never stayed up to what most would consider 'late', he did enjoy the lack of feeling rushed with looming deadlines. "Any form of midterms in the Art Department?"
