She grinned, carefully stashing the packet again. This building wasn't under constant supervision, but there were cameras in most of the corridors, and she didn't want to get caught smoking this early on in her time here. She doubted they would go so far as to expel her, but they might try to severely curtail her out of lesson activities in order to keep an eye on her.
Pushing the door open, she pulled a face at the depressing weather of the outside world. It was grey and gloomy, the overcast sky not allowing any real sunshine to penetrate its canopy. They had to make do with the grey half-light which seemed omnipresent in Washington. At least it wasn't raining though.
"Ha, like a teacher here would buy you cigarettes. Have you met them? They're all narcs. I bet they'd just give you a detention if you even hinted."
Now that they were out of the building she glanced around. "I wanna make sure there's no cameras or anything. Don't want to get caught smoking on like my second day here. That would really suck."
