Amelia winced "I... I don't know. I'm sorry. This is an entirely novel tool being used it an unusual way interacting with a completely unique brain... I can't guarantee anything, but I really do want to try" she took a moment to think, clutching at the spot just above her nose like she had a headache.
Letting out a deep breath she said "Alright, I'll lay everything I do know down so you're aware of what I might be able to do. I'd need to get some equipment together to perform a few basic tests but it's possible your brain processes your own memories and those of others slightly differently, if so we still couldn't remove the memories, there's no capacity to do that, just to scan them and 'fix' broken ones. But I might be able to get it so your own memories are one coherent thing separate from the others. In addition, is there anybody you have just about all the memories of? If so it might be possible to test if you've accidently changed things at least on them by using the version of the memories in your head as the base template. I might be able to manage both, or just one, or neither. I'll get the necessary stuff together though and determine the technical aspects I'll need to cover. Here, I'll give you my number, any time you want to do the tests works as long as it's not before tomorrow afternoon. If it actually works we'll need somebody you're worried you could have changed to test, but for now just you" she took a notepad from her pocket, scribbling her number on it and tearing off the page, sliding it across the table
"Don't worry about the money for now. If you're insistent on it you can pay me if it actually ends up working, but it's only going to cost about fifty dollars to build, most of that cost is the microchips. I... I just want to try and help"

Amelia's explanation contains far too many if's and maybe's for Tanya's liking, but that doesn't change her enthusiasm for it, even a tiny bit more control over her powers would go a long way for her. Maybe it won't be a perfect solution, but it will be a start, and maybe it will help her learn something new about her powers. It's a lot to process, and has, in some ways completely overturned her own idea of her abilities. She can change the memories she absorbs? And maybe even the memories in people's heads? The thought is both amazing, and terrifying. She's absorbed memories from several people over the last eighteen months, most notably Quinton. Who knows what she might have done to affect those people's memories by accident, without even realising? Not to mention the potential effect of her abilities to manipulate people. She has no intention of ever doing so, but the thought of what someone else might do with her abilities is still terrifying. She's feared visiting the MNRU for just such a reason, but Amelia already has been so helpful and supportive, perhaps the MNRU would be as well? "Thanks. It really... It really means a lot..."Tanya is shocked to find herself nearly tearing up. This is the second time in just a few weeks that a complete stranger has totally undermined her preconceived notions of them and offered to help altruistically. "I've just been so scared of being found out with my power that there's been hardly anything else in my mind. Now you're telling me I might actually have hurt people with it... It's... It's a lot to process... But I'm so grateful for your help, and I will pay you back however I can."She takes the scribbled piece of paper. Normally she would make a show out of taking her phone out and dialling the number into her contacts. Amelia knows about her power though, so she doesn't bother with that, simply glancing briefly at the scrap of paper and the digits written upon it before carefully folding the scrap and tucking it in with the paper napkin next to her coffee mug.
