The young man snickered at her comment. "I guess we should have seen it coming. I mean, they'll stick logos and flyers on athletes and Nash car, why not supers?" As he'd already said, the superhero life definitely wasn't for him. His powers both didn't really lend themselves to such a lifestyle and it was a responsibility that he didn't want to shoulder. "Who'd want to be a vigilante? All the risk, with nobody else to have your back if things go south." Presumably some had already gotten themselves killed. Tanya Dawson 's explanations regarding her exams practically caused him to shudder. If ever he'd needed confirmation that he wasn't cut out for the academic world, then her stories were enough to convince him of that much. "So how many years have you got left before you're really in the field?" Lawyers studied for a long time right? He felt he knew that much from what he'd heard on TV and in films. Quinton was down to about one quarter of his beer left. He did drink a little. Never to excess but when he spent his time working on construction sites across the city, it was hard not to periodically get roped into the odd can here or there. Tonight was markedly different from those little ten minute breaks here or there. "Sure!" Quinton responded with his usual enthusiasm without really thinking about it much longer. Perhaps he'd been a little bit "socially starved" of late. Tonight was exactly the sort of normal interaction that he'd been missing and he genuinely enjoyed the opportunity to spend even just a few minutes longer with Tanya. It was only after a few seconds later that he thought to ask, genuinely curious: "Did you have anywhere in mind?" She was a student, exams or not, they must have had places to hang out.

"It's only like two years now, but then I needed to try and get picked up by a law firm, and that won't be, like, super easy unfortunately. I'm sure I'll find somewhere though!"She takes another sip of her drink, the crimson liquid disappearing very quickly indeed, especially considering her petite frame. It feels good to drink alcohol without worrying about losing control of her abilities, and truth be told, her lack of practice is starting to affect her a little. The buzz is melting warmly into her stomach and beginning to permeate the rest of her body. Smiling, she leans over against Quinton, enjoying the sensation of another body against her own, and savouring it. She hasn't enjoyed such an experience since shortly after the event, the night her powers manifested and she absorbed part of her then boyfriends memories. She'd never been able to look at him the same, and since then she'd not been able to look at any other man the same. That she knew everything about Quinton… well… that somehow made it easier, she knew she could trust him. People said that they knew people, but really they didn't, they didn't know every secret little thought, every moment in their life. Tanya did. In every way he seemed just the good guy he portrayed, and there was nothing in the memories she had absorbed that lead her doubt that. Considering she had absorbed everything that said quite a great deal for Quinton's character. Downing the rest of her drink, Tanya steels herself, she's never been this type of girl, but she's never trusted anyone as much as she trusts Quinton right now. "Well… we could go back to your place…"Tag: Quinton Summers

There were no complaints to be heard from Quinton when Tanya decided to come that little bit closer to him. In fact, he welcomed it. It had been quite some time since he too had been able to enjoy such proximity. Albeit not for the same reasons. He'd been pushing others away purely out of fear that one day they might see him cut a finger only for to to heal up right before their very eyes. He didn't need to worry about such things with the young woman. She already knew who and what he was and that didn't bother him in the slightest.
As Tanya chose to settle closer to him, the young man would move to slip an arm around her shoulders unless she saw it fit to complain. There was something nice about the normality of it all and being able to trust another with his secret. It was more than he'd ever been able to find the courage to do since the event. Not even his family knew. Having another he could put faith in was a relief he hadn't realized that he needed.
"I'm sure you'll find a way. If you're brave enough to fight your way through college, I reckon you can do pretty much anything."
Quinton gave the matter only a brief amount of thought, keen not make things awkward. The alcohol and overall relaxed and comfortable feeling that had overtaken him right now made him inclined to agree without a second's hesitation. The only slight issue was that he did have work tomorrow but that was something they could work around, right? It had been so long she'd he'd been able to pretend that everything was normal in his life... "That doesn't sound like a bad idea." He would answer quietly, with a gentle smile.
His drink was finished. He was good to go as soon as Tanya was.

Tanya feels the comforting warmth of the man's arm settle over her shoulder, and she does nothing to stop him. She has no need to, she feels perfectly secure here. There is no need to worry about taking his memories, and no need to worry that he might expose her. She rests her head against his shoulder, enjoying the physical intimacy, just for a moment. Her drink is done, and she plays with the rim of the glass for a moment. It isn't long though before she reaches out to push the empty vessel away. It squeaks slightly on the wooden tabletop. The bar has been cosy for a while, and she is grateful for the pleasant afterglow that the alcohol has built up in her stomach. She turns her head to Quinton again, leaning up to kiss him once more. "I always have good ideas. Lets go."Tag: Quinton Summers

In truth, Quinton would probably have been quite comfortable had they stayed there like that for a while. Safe, comfortable and finally, for what seemed like the first time in eternity, able to relax a little bit and drop some of his guard, he was content. Tanya's suggestion was however an appealing one. So he wouldn't be offering any resistance right now both accepting and returning her kiss.
"I look forwards to more of them." Quinton replied getting back to his feet.
His little flat wasn't all that far from here. It would be about a quarter of an hour walk. It occurred to him as they began to leave that of course, Tanya would know all this. She'd seen into his mind or rather his memories. There would be no secrets and no surprises where she was concerned. Not that it particularly bothered him, it was just a rather peculiar thing to try and wrap his head around.
Assuming that Tanya saw no objection Quinton would seek proximity to her throughout the walk, either through holding her hand or an arm around her shoulders.
When they reached the apartment, it would be a simple task of unlocking the door. Mia, his dog, would of course bound out of the door and excitedly greet the two of them.

There was no objection to Quinton's attentions throughout the walk, and Tanya herself endeavoured to be as close to him as possible. Tanya is, of course, delighted to see Mia. She drops to her knees as the dog approaches so that she can give her the appropriate attention. Stroking her with both hands, she pauses to scratch the enthusiastic pet behind the ears. Somehow, everything seems a little bit rosier with the energetic dog involved. She stands again, giving the dog's head one last ruffle before rising to her full height. Looking up at Quinton, she smiles. "Are you, like, going to offer me a drink? Or what?"Tag: Quinton Summers

Quinton greeted his dog warmly. He had been away for a while. Naturally, the first few things on her mind were: say "welcome home" to owner and then get good. He doubted that he would be given much peace until he'd given in to her demands, simple as they were.
No doubt Tanya knew just what his flat looked like from his memories. It was a simple affair. He didn't need much and of course he was too poor to afford much more. So one way or another, it suited him just fine. At least it was tidy. He kept it so just in case any of his family suddenly decided to come over.
"I'm sure I can manage to find you something." Quinton assured her with a smile. "Probably not a cocktail. I think it might have to be beer or a lemonade."

"Whatever you've got is fine. I'm not picky."Though she was definitely a little tipsy. She took her shoes off as Quinton went to find refreshments, managing to do so without stumbling or falling over. There was a distinct warmth in the pit of her stomach, and a buzz in the back of her head, but she wasn't drunk. She'd been there, done that, so to speak, and had the memories, or lack of them, to prove it. In the end it hadn't been something she'd particularly enjoyed, she didn't like waking up the next morning not knowing what had happened the previous night. Tanya looked around Quinton's flat. It was simple, much simpler than her own roomshare, and certainly tidier. Tanya had always been organised, but since developing actual eidetic memory organisation had seemed less and less important. She appreciates the cleanliness of his apartment, and feels briefly embarrassed that he has seen the messiness of her own. "This is a real nice place."Padding forward softly in her bare feet she steps up on tiptoe to put her arms around Quinton's neck pulling him into a kiss. At least there's no doubt that she will remember every last detail of tonight in the morning. FinTag: Quinton Summers
